I found myself in a situation where I was trying to find the truth of the gospel wherever I could find it, in terms of radio, TV, books. Going through the different challenges of being a single parent, head of household, and I needed more than what I was getting. Ended up seeing pastor Evans on TV, finding him on radio, and just actually setting my alarm clock in my kitchen to go off at a particular time that I know that he's going to be on. [00:01:49]

What I appreciate most about Dr. Evans is that when he preaches— "How he's doing it, why he's taking so long to get it done, when God is ticking you off the most." —there are no subjects that are off-limits. "Is when you've got to trust him the most." It's unadulterated, uncompromised truth. "Because He says, 'I know something you don't know. I know the plans I have for you.'" That has made Pastor Evans and his broadcast and just his preaching and teaching so important to me. [00:02:32]

But God is using what he allows to bring attention back to Him, because He's always seeking to make the spiritual more important than the physical. And now, that's my clock going off telling me that he's on the radio right now. So you'll have to push the mode button, if that's a problem— The one event in my life that stands out where Dr. Evans' voice meant so much to me. [00:03:23]

So I was offered a job with a local nonprofit organization, and that worked out well for about three years. And we had a situation at work where there was money on a particular grant that we did not have, and my boss wanted me to not report that. And I just felt that it was something that I could not hide, and I couldn't go and do a report and not tell the truth. So I ended up being terminated from that job. [00:04:06]

It's nothing like coming home and in a situation like that, again, being head of household, having my son to care for, myself, and my mom, and walking in the door and turning on the radio and hearing pastor Evans say, "Your boss is not your source. God is your source." Just a couple of years prior to my termination, I'd been having issues with termites in my home. Ended up having an insurance company, several insurance companies, that had to settle with me to not only repair my home but they settled in an amount that after the termination I had not only enough to repair my home but to live off of and to have the financial resources to care for me and my family. [00:05:20]

To hear Pastor Evans say, you know, "Your boss is not your source," and to know and experience that God did step in and become, you know, the source, those are the kinds of things where Dr. Evans has been such an influence and just a strength for me. My son is now 20 and away in college, in Texas actually, and to see him be a Christian young man to the point of being, you know, called a Jesus boy on the college campus where he is, it was exciting to me because I like the fact that he was recognized as a follower of Jesus Christ. [00:06:02]

And a lot of times, even in homeschool, we would use Dr. Evans books as, you know, his Bible as the textbook for his Bible class. One of his books, Kingdom Man, was one that we used, so he has been exposed to what it means to be a kingdom man. He's been exposed to what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ, and he enjoys listening to Dr. Evans because they share the love for football. Dr. Evans' ministry and influence has been tremendous in our family and in my life. [00:06:41]
