We are spiritually poor and in need of his daily grace and mercy for his protection, for his guidance, for his perfect love to cast out fear. And during our previous sermon series on Kingdom Come, one of our guest speakers, Pastor Ryan, talked about how there is an opposing kingdom to the kingdom of God. God joyfully and willingly hears your prayers. He delights in your prayers. He delights when his children come to him in prayer. And he says in verses seven to eight, And will not God give justice to his elect who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long? Over them, I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Prayer allows us to align our hearts with God's heart. And what does this parable tell us about the heart of God? It tells us that God loves his people and he hears our prayers. A judge who didn't fear God or respect people. Eventually gave into the widow's persistence. How much more readily and willingly will our God who loves his children? Prayer is the fruit of faith. He's called us to pray in faith. It's the means by which we demonstrate faith. And as we pray, we grow in faith. It's saying, God, I trust you.
