When Joseph was cast into a pit by his brothers, the Lord was with him. When we face betrayal and hardship, we trust in God's steadfast love. In slavery and imprisonment, Joseph remained faithful and God gave him favor. When life feels unjust, we look to God who works all things for good. [00:14:58] (26 seconds)

The brothers said to each other, here comes the big dreamer. Come on now, let's kill him and throw him into one of the cisterns. And we'll say a wild animal devoured him. Then we will see what becomes of his dreams. Man, these guys are bitter. [00:44:31] (16 seconds)

And so there's this moral compromise that's going on. You know, it's not as bad as killing him. We're just going to do this other thing. Now, this is, you know, this is a tremendous example of moral compromise. But here's the point. We all struggle with that. [00:48:32] (19 seconds)

Instead of asking, is this right? They ask, is this less bad? Let me repeat. Instead of asking, is this right? Does this please God? Is this glorifying God? They say, well, is this less bad? And the other thing, there's a great warning for us and a great lesson for us to learn in that. [00:49:58] (21 seconds)

Betrayal is one of the deepest wounds we can experience whether it comes from family, friends, or trusted relationships. It leaves us broken and questioning God. But even in betrayal, God does not abandon us. Can you imagine how Joseph would have felt? [00:52:54] (23 seconds)

Maybe you find yourself sort of in this moral trap of lesser evils. Maybe you've made this sort of a habit of comparing yourself to other what I do is bad but it's not as bad as this other person or maybe you've got this sort of compromised situation that you're facing. [01:01:47] (17 seconds)
