66s
“Your talent is not your trophy. Your talent is your trust. It's what has been entrusted to you. And so today, everyone in the room has a talent. So if I made an altar call, every person in the room should respond to it. We don't have the room for that here. So instead, I want you to find someone to pray over. Pray specifically, God, reveal talent, dig up talent, and give them faith and courage to use it to the glory of God and the edification of the saints. That's stewarding our talent well.”
46s
“Now think about this. Please, this must be a paradigm shift in our minds. He didn't steal money. He didn't lose money, and he didn't waste money. So far those things are good. Right? Amen? But he did bury it. And sometimes, we think poor stewardship means using something badly. But according to Jesus, poor stewardship can also mean not using it at all.”
52s
“Not using your gifting, not using your abilities, not using your skill for the benefit of others to the glory of God. According to this parable, Jesus is saying, when you don't use your gifts, it's just as bad as using them poorly. I wonder how many things god has put in us that we've buried. A gift that we've buried. An ability that we've buried. An idea that we've buried. Or more serious, a calling that we've buried.”
