Faithful Journey: Aligning with God's Divine Plan

Summary

In life, much like flying with an airline, our journey with God is about building a consistent and faithful relationship. Just as I have flown with American Airlines for 40 years, earning a permanent Platinum status due to my loyalty, our walk with God requires steadfastness and commitment. This relationship with God is not about adjusting His plans to fit ours, but aligning ourselves with His divine schedule. When we remain faithful, God recognizes our dedication and grants us spiritual privileges and blessings that reflect our deep connection with Him.

The story of my experience with American Airlines illustrates the importance of a deeper relationship. When I was initially denied a first-class upgrade, my Platinum status was recognized, granting me the seat over someone with a lesser status. This mirrors our spiritual journey, where a deeper relationship with God brings greater blessings and opportunities. However, even Platinum status has its limits, as I discovered when an Executive Platinum member, with an even more intimate relationship with the airline, was prioritized over me.

Yet, knowing someone with influence can change the outcome. My sister, who worked in special services, was able to elevate my status beyond Executive Platinum, securing my first-class seat. This is akin to our relationship with God, where knowing Him intimately allows us to experience His power to overrule circumstances in our favor. Walking with God means trusting Him to use our spiritual status to lead us to places and experiences beyond our imagination. It is through this faithful walk that we truly understand the depth of His love and the extent of His blessings.

Key Takeaways:

1. Faithful Commitment: Just as loyalty to an airline can earn you special privileges, a faithful commitment to God results in spiritual blessings and recognition. Our consistent walk with Him is rewarded with experiences that reflect our deep relationship. [01:23]

2. Depth of Relationship: A deeper relationship with God, like a higher status with an airline, brings greater benefits. It is not about the length of time but the quality and depth of our connection with Him that matters. [02:42]

3. Knowing the Right Person: In life, knowing someone with influence can change outcomes. Similarly, knowing God intimately allows us to experience His power to overrule and transform our circumstances. [04:42]

4. Aligning with God's Plan: Our journey with God is about aligning with His divine schedule, not adjusting His plans to fit ours. This alignment brings us to places and experiences we could never reach on our own. [00:46]

5. Trusting God's Overruling Power: Walking with God means trusting Him to use our spiritual status to lead us to extraordinary experiences. His ability to overrule is a testament to His love and power in our lives. [05:03]

Day 1: Faithful Commitment Leads to Spiritual Privileges
A consistent and faithful relationship with God is akin to loyalty to an airline, where steadfastness results in special privileges. Just as one earns a permanent status with an airline through years of dedication, a committed walk with God is recognized with spiritual blessings and experiences that reflect the depth of the relationship. This commitment is not about adjusting God's plans to fit personal desires but aligning oneself with His divine schedule. When you remain faithful, God acknowledges your dedication and grants you privileges that mirror your spiritual status. [01:23]

"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain." (1 Corinthians 15:58, ESV)

Reflection: In what ways can you demonstrate a more steadfast commitment to God in your daily life, and how might this change your spiritual journey?

Day 2: The Depth of Relationship Determines the Benefits
A deeper relationship with God, much like a higher status with an airline, brings greater benefits and opportunities. It is not merely the length of time spent in this relationship that matters, but the quality and depth of the connection. A profound relationship with God allows for greater blessings and a more intimate understanding of His will. This depth is cultivated through intentional time spent in prayer, study, and reflection, leading to a richer spiritual life. [02:42]

"And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." (John 17:3, ESV)

Reflection: How can you deepen your relationship with God this week, and what specific steps will you take to enhance the quality of your time with Him?

Day 3: Knowing God Intimately Changes Outcomes
In life, knowing someone with influence can alter circumstances significantly. Similarly, an intimate relationship with God allows you to experience His power to overrule and transform situations in your favor. This relationship is not about using God for personal gain but trusting in His ability to guide and provide in ways beyond human understanding. When you know God deeply, you can rely on His wisdom and strength to navigate life's challenges. [04:42]

"Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known." (Jeremiah 33:3, ESV)

Reflection: What is one area of your life where you need to trust God's overruling power, and how can you seek His guidance in this situation today?

Day 4: Aligning with God's Plan Brings Fulfillment
The journey with God is about aligning with His divine schedule rather than adjusting His plans to fit personal agendas. This alignment leads to experiences and places that are beyond personal reach. By surrendering personal desires and seeking God's will, you open yourself to His guidance and the fulfillment of His purpose in your life. This requires a willingness to trust in His timing and direction, even when it differs from personal expectations. [00:46]

"Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established." (Proverbs 16:3, ESV)

Reflection: What is one area of your life where you need to align more closely with God's plan, and what steps can you take to surrender your own agenda to His will?

Day 5: Trusting in God's Overruling Power
Walking with God means trusting Him to use your spiritual status to lead you to extraordinary experiences. His ability to overrule circumstances is a testament to His love and power in your life. This trust is built through a faithful relationship with Him, where you learn to rely on His wisdom and strength. By trusting in God's overruling power, you can experience His blessings and guidance in ways that surpass human understanding. [05:03]

"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us." (Ephesians 3:20, ESV)

Reflection: How can you actively trust in God's power to overrule in your life today, and what specific situation will you bring before Him in prayer?

Quotes

I fly with American I I I find out their schedule I do not tell them to adjust their flights to mine because I I'm I'm on I'm on I'm on their plan I'm on their flight plan I'm on their schedule so I fly with them they don't fly with me but I fly with them because they can take me where I need to go. [00:25:38]

Now I've been flying American for 40 years, a few years ago I got a letter in the mail from American and the letter in the mail said you are because of your faithfulness in regularly flying us are permanently Platinum for the rest of your life you have a platinum designation. [00:55:38]

The reason they gave me that designation is I've been walking with them or flying with them for 40 years and so they gave me a testimony the testimony of a permanent status as Platinum because I didn't leave them for Delta I didn't leave them for Spirit Airlines I didn't leave them for any other air I never left them I stuck with them. [00:88:20]

I walked up to the gate and I asked them did they have any first class upgrades she said there was only one seat left but they had just given it to the person who was in front of me but uh excuse me but the person who was in front of me what what what level were they, they said oh well they were gold. [02:07:12]

I pulled out my platinum card I pulled out my platinum card cuz you see Platinum means I have a longer deeper relationship than gold she said oh I'm sorry I didn't I didn't catch that you with Platinum oh no the seed is yours because because your relationship is deeper so so you get benefits that go beyond somebody with a lesser relationship. [02:30:48]

Behind me came another guy and he said is are there any first class seats I'm an executive Platinum now executive Platinum means that they have a longer more intimate relationship than I do they have walked with American longer than I have and they walk with it regularly over 100,000 miles a year so they have a relationship that I do not possess. [03:11:88]

I picked up the telephone and I called my sister who's on the front row right here who was over special services so you shouldn't have said nothing and then you wouldn't have been in the sermon but his sister right up here was over special services with American Airlines. [04:00:32]

I picked up the telephone I called back to Dallas and said I just got bumped I'm at this gate I got can you help me she said I'll take care of it go back to the gate I went back to the gate sister had called the gate put me in a VIP category which Trump's executive Platinum. [04:23:32]

I walked up there got my first class ticket and ain't apologize to nobody you know why cuz I knew somebody who could rule and overrule what I'm trying to say is if you walk with God he'll know your status and he'll use your status to take you where he wants you to be to give you an experience like never you've had before. [04:47:44]

But you got to walk with it. [05:18:28]
