“``As James reminds us, faith without deeds is dead. But we know that despite our misunderstanding deeds, despite those times, we've gone our own way. Despite those times where we think that we our mission in life is to serve ourselves. Despite those times, Lord, we know that by the merits of Jesus Christ, your son, his death on the cross, by his resurrection, that not only only are we forgiven, not only are we healed, but we are freed to follow you. So may we do just that, Lord, as we are reminded of how much you love us, as we are reminded that we are the beloved of God, May we delight in your will and walk in your ways to the glory of your holy name. Amen.”

“Lord, we thank you for gathering us together this morning to spend time with you, Lord. Part of what it means to live the life of followers of you in discipleship is being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus and doing what Jesus did enable us to really be with you today. Heart, mind, soul, body, as we come before you to receive your gracious gifts. Enliven our hearts and our minds by your spirit as we begin. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

“And my worship leader friend was there alone. Nobody showed. And then. So my worship leader friend went ahead and played the music and the entire set and ended up continuing that ministry to these homeless people that were gathered at the shelter. But the other people in the worship band did not come. And when asked why they did not come, they said, oh, we. We didn't really take that seriously. We didn't really take that seriously. Now, sometimes it's hard to get out of our comfort zones. And so when you're in this large church setting, it's great to have all of these people come and worship, but when you have to leave the building to go minister in public, sometimes that's a little bit too out of our comfort zones.”
