#JesusIsTheWay
“``The second element, the resurrected Christ is the only plan of God for the salvation of humanity. There is no other way. There's no shortcut. There's no back road, no side window. There is only one way to the father, and that is through Jesus Christ, his son. If we change that just a little bit, we could be so acceptable. We could be so prominent in the culture that we are part of. If we simply said Jesus is a way, but he isn't a way. He is the way. He is the only way to the father.”

#DivineJustice
“James knew what he was doing. He also knew that his audience would have been all too aware of what he was saying. If you mistreat people, if you take advantage of the poor and the vulnerable, you will stir up the warrior heart of god and put yourself on the receiving end of god's wrath. When judgment takes the witness stand, the lord of heaven's armies steps forward as both judge and jury.”

#SovereignGrace
“Now, here's the good news. Are you guys ready for some good news? There is a sovereign grace that is sewn or knit into each of these verses. The judge who sees our wealth and justice and patience, suffering and word or broken word is the same judge that's described as great hearted and full of tender compassion. Let me give you some examples of how this works. Adam and Eve, they blew it, but this great hearted and tender, full of mercy god saw that and he covered them.”

#FaithOnTrial
“Now, that's pretty harsh. If there if you're anything like me, you're gonna be asking about right now, who can save me? Because if these five witnesses took the stand this morning, I'd be in big trouble because I miss most of them on a regular basis. Who's going to save me? Who's going to help me? Will our faith work when it matters the most? Will our faith work when these witnesses take the stand? Will this work? Will this faith work in a courtroom that never closes before a judge who never sleeps and sees everything. Our wealth testifies about what we consider to be important and worthy. Our patience testifies about our trust of the judge to arrive at a verdict, and we do not take matters into our own hands. Our suffering will testify about whether our difficult times drew us toward God or pushed us away from him. Our word will testify about whether the gap between what we say and what we do is narrow enough to be called integrity.”
