#JesusTransformsLives
“``Jesus doesn't just take people and and show them how to be slightly better. Jesus takes people and he gives them the opportunity to transform their lives from what they were before they met him to a different being after. Everyone has chains. Everyone has something that that holds them back to who they were. Sometimes they're visible, sometimes they're obvious, most of the time they're not. Jesus sets people free from their chains.”

#FearNotGodIsWithYou
“Fear is universal, it's everywhere, it's always around. Doesn't matter how old you are, doesn't matter how young you are, doesn't matter if you've figured things out in life, there are things in life that we fear. But following Jesus changes that and we're gonna see that through these stories. One of the most repeated commands throughout scripture, throughout all of the bible is fear not. God says it over and over, fear not for the Lord your God is with you. Sometimes it's hard to feel that. Sometimes it's hard to to break free of that spider scurrying across your bathtub in the moment knowing that God has your back. But God's presence is greater than our fear.”

#FaithInJesusAuthority
“Faith is not the absence of fear. It's not the absence of fear but it is choosing to trust Jesus because of who he is. And we will see as we're going along here how the people of this day and his disciples are learning truly who Jesus is throughout this. These four stories are are different situations. Some of them are really truly impossible to figure out. Human beings tried and they failed. But these situations they show that there's not a storm, there's no evil, there's no disease, there's not even death that is beyond the authority found in Jesus Christ.”

#JesusHasAllAuthority
“Sometimes the the power of nature is impossible to overcome. There's just nothing that we can do. This is where the disciples find themselves, even in their own comfort zones, they find themselves overcome by fear. Jesus is showing them little bit by little bit by little bit that he has all authority here in heaven and earth. That he's not just some random guy who's doing some really cool things, He is the Lord of heaven and earth. Sometimes Jesus calms the storm, settles it right down and things go back to normal. Sometimes he calms the people within the storm. Sometimes he does both. But either way, Jesus' presence and his authority in this world is enough.”

#BringYourFearsToJesus
“Our fears might look different. Your fear may look different than some of these stories, but the answer is the same, seek towards Jesus. What fears am I facing? What storms am I facing? What chains are still holding me down? What burdens that I have in my life have I stopped bringing to Jesus because I haven't seen progress? What fears in my life have I allowed to become bigger than my faith? Is my fear shaping my view of Jesus or is Jesus shaping the response that I have to my fear?”

#JesusOverEveryFear
“Through all these stories, the progression that ties everything together, the disciples feared the nature, the town's people feared the evil inside of this man. This woman felt the fear of rejection that she would never get better. Jairus feared the death of his child. But through every story, the thread that proves through is Jesus has authority and he himself is greater than everything possible for us to fear, even spiders.”

#FaithIsReachingOut
“He doesn't simply heal her and walk away. He doesn't he doesn't feel his power out knowing exactly what happened and just continue on with his life knowing that she's been healed and let it be a quiet little thing that just goes by the wayside. He stops and he addresses her. He wants this woman to know that she matters to him. He calls her daughter. The the the miracle was was to heal her flow of blood. That stops immediately. But he also addresses her individually, personally. Faith is not measured by how loud we pray. Faith is not measured by how often we show up. Faith is measured by do we reach out towards Jesus when we know we need him?”

#JesusHasPowerOverDeath
“Jesus walks back to his house. Inside the house, everyone is weeping and wailing which was customary at that time. And Jesus takes her hand and he says, Talida little girl, get up. And she does. Because life obeys him and death obeys Jesus. Death feels final but in this case it wasn't final. Shows us that Jesus has the power over death which we see in his own life.”
