“``Bottom line is the gospel is offensive. I've heard somebody say that before. The gospel is offensive. You don't need to make it any more offensive than it is. But how is it offensive? It's offensive to the sinful world because it brings light to darkness, and it separates the righteous from the unrighteous. Our world is a sinful world, and we are all unrighteous when we're on our sinful status. Another commentary states it this way, the inevitable result of Christ's coming is conflict between Christ and the antichrist, between Christ's children and the devil's children. And that means contention on every level of our relationships. And that hurts and sad, and it's hard for us to sometimes swallow that pill. But god, I mean, all good tolerates no sin in his presence. That's why humanity, when lost in sin, separated from it. But we, in our simple state, cling to our sin and refuse God's peace.”

“But if we're quiet with all those thoughts and all these excuses in our minds and listen, we can hear the spirit in our hearts. And this is not a call to preach. It's not saying go and grab people by their collars and be abrasive and preach the the coming of the Lord. It's not saying that. People talk to that. But it is telling us to stand firm and do not acquiesce to sin. The spirit will give you all you need to navigate these troubled waters, so stand strong.”

But it is telling us to stand firm and do not acquiesce to sin. The spirit will give you all you need to navigate these troubled waters, so stand strong. Jesus Jesus warned us that the world hated him, and it will come after us as well. So we pray for courage. We pray for discernment and the words to proclaim the faith.”

“And this is something we all have to face. The kingdom of God matters more than anything else. And we need to know this and we need to live it. And if we reject this, we are not worthy as Jesus said because we reject his gift. Do we care more about our cushy lives than god? Maybe not, but there's some who do. And when the spirit dwells within us, when we stand firm in the sun, the sword comes. The unrighteous will fight against us. Family, friends, and society will turn on us, and it may feel like we're lost.”
