1. "So looked at the idea of what are you known for? And just kind of walk through the various things that Daniel was known for, that he was known for walking in the spirit. He was known for his integrity and he was known for being uncompromising in his allegiance to God. And so all of these things are actually supposed to shape us today. As we read the word that we should be known for these things."

2. "Daniel just had, he had more, he had faith, but his faith was, it's better to follow God. It's better to be with God and to die than, than anything else. Yeah. Um, then to, uh, be justified in the King's eyes, uh, to even, even down to having his life. Um, like some might say, well, I'll take the punishment as long as no one has like a bad view of me."

3. "This is just this big misconception, um, that faith following Christ is just going to make life easier. Yeah. And it made it, it made it easier for Daniel that he could face this challenge, but it didn't take it away. And nor did he even try to justify himself."

4. "What the gospel offers is, is peace in the midst of, of these challenges in this life. I love that. And so I remember talking with someone years ago, they were talking about pain and suffering. They're like, well, I, I. I have so much hope in God now that when a challenge comes up, I don't even feel the suffering anymore. I just, I know that God's at work and I'm like, I don't know if you know what suffering is."

5. "Daniel obviously took his career very seriously. So maybe that was even more painful for maybe at that point, he's like, right, throw me in the lion's pit. Like I'm, I'm already done. Like everything I've built my life around, uh, you know, I can, but, but he was able to have peace in the, in the midst of all of this. And so that is, that's the hope that we have in the gospels as Kirk was saying, it's because we're keeping our eyes fixed on the thing that ultimately matters."

6. "What does it mean to walk in the spirit? It means that you are speaking to God. You're listening to the voice of God, which requires silence. It requires contemplation and requires reading the word, how he speaks to us through, through that means, but it also requires, uh, obeying what, what the Holy Spirit is telling you to do. Um, and we see that in Daniel's life that he, he walked in the spirit."

7. "Having integrity means that as we're trusting him some, some will see that as this weakness that oh then that means that you know following Jesus is for the weak I need to have my own path forward. Yeah. Um, but to have true integrity means that you're you're truly trusting in God in the midst of all this and and even if someone will look down upon you for that you're okay with that you you don't have to justify yourself in that that because you've already been justified by Christ."

8. "I think that sometimes there can be this notion, um, that that being a follower of Christ means that you're never going to face temptation again, and you're never going to fall into sin again. Uh, I remember years ago, I had a conversation with someone who was adamant that now that he's a believer, he cannot sin. And I just wanted to talk to his wife because I'm like, I want to know more about this. What does that look like? Follow him around. Live with a perfect person."

9. "I think like in all of this, recognizing where temptation comes from, what does it actually look like? And I think like that, that is such a huge aspect of this as we seek to become not, not just to follow the rules, but as we seek to become more Christ, and that has to be our goal. As we wrestle through temptation."
