Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Day 2: The Power of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a powerful force in our lives, guiding us, affirming us, and empowering us to live out our faith. When we open ourselves up to the Holy Spirit, we can experience a deeper connection with God and a stronger faith.

Acts 1:8 - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Day 3: Relinquishing Control to God

Relinquishing control can be a difficult task, especially when we are faced with challenges and uncertainties. However, when we trust in God and submit to His will, we can experience peace and assurance.

Proverbs 19:21 - "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails."

Reflection: Think about a situation where you struggled to relinquish control. How might trusting in God and submitting to His will have changed the outcome? Moving forward, how can you practice relinquishing control to God in your daily life?

Day 4: The Importance of Conviction and Transformation

Conviction and transformation are key aspects of our faith journey. When we experience a significant transformation in our faith, it not only impacts us but also those around us.

Romans 12:2 - "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Reflection: Reflect on a significant transformation in your faith journey. How did this transformation impact those around you? How can you continue to foster conviction and transformation in your faith journey?

Day 5: Pursuing Purpose Over People

As followers of Christ, we are called to pursue God's purpose for our lives, even if it means going against the expectations of others. When we prioritize God's purpose, we can experience true fulfillment and joy.

Galatians 1:10 - "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."

Reflection: Consider a time when you felt led by the Spirit to pursue a specific purpose. How did this pursuit impact your relationships with others? How can you continue to prioritize God's purpose for your life over the expectations of others?

Sermon Summary

In the sermon, I discussed the story of Gideon and how his faith journey can be a lesson for us all. I highlighted how Gideon, despite his doubts and fears, was able to become a leader and bring many people to know God. I emphasized that it was Gideon's willingness to listen to God and obey Him that led to this transformation. I also shared the exciting news that Dylan and Amberley, who had come to interview for the Youth pastor's position, have accepted our offer. This is an answer to our prayers and we look forward to welcoming them to our community.

In the second part of the sermon, I delved deeper into the concept of faith and how it can guide us through hardships and struggles. I stressed that it is the Holy Spirit that will affirm us, speak to us, and lead us through these challenges. I also touched on the importance of having a seeking heart and a desire to increase our faith. I ended the sermon with a prayer, asking God to eradicate all doubt, give us faith, and help us fulfill all that He knows we can be.
