#healingStartsWithListening
“Healing often begins when we're willing to say, like, this has not been okay or I'm not okay or I made a mistake. Or even I feel overwhelmed. Could you just sit with me for a minute? And the other the person on the other end doesn't say, glad you said something. I have a five step plan how you can fix it. Oh, okay. We think that's what people need, and that's why we often avoid people. You are hurting. Right? Because we think, well, we don't have the answers. No. What any of us are ever just looking for is someone who says, I hear you, and I'm here. And I'm sorry you're going through this. You're not alone.”

#breakSecrecyHeal
“Shame often grows in secrecy. Addiction grows in secrecy. Resentment and fear and grief thrive when we put them behind closed doors. And healing so often begins the moment we're willing to lower the wall or crack the door and say to another human being, this thing that I'm going through right now is messy or hard or it's unclear to me.”

#belongBeforePerfect
“James is telling us, god's not waiting for you to become a spiritual superhero before you deserve love. Right? But before you deserve community. Right? Before before you should invite your allow yourself, to share love and to be loved, to exist with others. You don't need a spotless resume. You don't an untangled life to be part of the body of Christ. You are the body of Christ. And as part of the body of Christ, you get to be human. So does every person sitting next to you. Finally,”
