God does not want His people to live in fear, but instead to walk in the power, love, and sound mind that He provides. Fear is not just an emotion—it is a spirit that can be resisted and rejected through the authority God gives. When you remember that you are not alone, even in a world of millions, you can testify that God reached down and touched your life personally. No matter what storms or challenges you face, you can stand firm knowing that God’s Spirit within you is greater than any fear that comes against you. Take a moment to thank God for His faithfulness and for the confidence He gives you to overcome fear. [52:28]
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Reflection: What is one fear that has been holding you back lately, and how can you invite God’s power, love, and sound mind to help you confront it today?
When fear pushes you to fight, remember the example of David who faced Goliath not with worldly weapons or someone else’s armor, but with faith in God’s deliverance. David’s victory came because he relied on God’s strength, remembered God’s past faithfulness, and fought in the Lord’s name. You are called to fight your battles with spiritual weapons—prayer, God’s Word, and faith—not with anger, anxiety, or your own strength. God’s armor is uniquely fitted for you, and He will use what you have practiced in private to bring victory in public. Whatever giant you face—be it financial, relational, or spiritual—fight with praise, prayer, and confidence in God’s faithfulness. [01:10:10]
1 Samuel 17:45-47 (NKJV)
Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”
Reflection: What “giant” are you facing right now, and how can you intentionally choose to fight it with God’s spiritual weapons instead of your own strength?
When fear tempts you to run away from God’s calling or difficult situations, remember Jonah’s story—running only leads to storms and delays your growth. You cannot escape God’s presence or His purpose for your life; He lovingly pursues you, not to punish, but to redirect you into His perfect will. Even when you feel like giving up because others have let you down, your faith must rest in God, not in people. Surrendering to God brings rescue and restoration, while running only multiplies your problems and affects those around you. God is not behind you with a hammer, but ahead of you with a plan—stop running and step into His purpose. [01:24:41]
Jonah 2:1-2, 10; 3:1-3 (NKJV)
Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly. And he said: “I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, and He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and You heard my voice.” ... So the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land. Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.” So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord.
Reflection: Is there a calling, relationship, or step of faith you’ve been running from? What would it look like to stop running and surrender that area to God today?
Faith is not the absence of fear, but the choice to trust and obey God even when circumstances are dangerous, uncertain, or overwhelming. Daniel’s example in the lion’s den shows that faith means remaining steadfast in prayer and obedience, regardless of threats or pressure to compromise. God honors those who trust Him, and He is glorified when deliverance comes—not because of our strength, but because of His power. Faith does not always remove the lions or the problems, but it removes their power over you and brings peace in the midst of chaos. Like Daniel, let your faith be visible in both private and public, and trust that God will honor your faithfulness in His time. [01:35:35]
Daniel 6:10, 21-22 (NKJV)
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. ... Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.”
Reflection: Where is God calling you to act in faith today, even though you feel afraid? What is one step of obedience you can take right now?
True peace is not found in the absence of problems, but in the presence of God. When you trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, you can stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, even when fear tries to paralyze you. God’s invitation is not to fight in your own strength, flee from your assignment, or freeze in anxiety, but to walk by faith, knowing that He is near. Faith does not always change your environment, but it changes you within it, bringing rest and confidence even in the midst of chaos. Remember, faith is not about the absence of fear—it’s about knowing that God is near and choosing to trust Him. [01:42:25]
Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Reflection: In what area of your life do you need to experience God’s peace today? How can you intentionally invite His presence into that situation and trust Him to carry you through?
It’s a powerful thing to hear the stories of what God has done in our lives. Each of us, no matter how small we may feel in the crowd, has been seen and touched by God. He is faithful, and He never fails us. Today, we reflected on the reality of fear and how it intersects with faith, especially in the storms of life. Fear is not just an emotion—it’s a spirit, and God has given us the authority to reject it. We are equipped with power, love, and a sound mind.
We revisited the journey of faith through life’s storms: storms are inevitable, even for the faithful; faith is found in our focus on Jesus, not our circumstances; and peace is found in His presence. We also remembered that when family fails, God prevails, and that His grace heals the wounds inflicted by culture. Today, we focused on the “fear factor”—how fear shows up in our lives and how we can respond.
There are four basic responses to fear: fight, flight, freeze, and faith. Three are natural, but only faith is supernatural. We looked at biblical examples for each. David faced Goliath not with borrowed armor or his own strength, but with the weapons God gave him and the memory of God’s past deliverances. He fought in the name of the Lord, not in his emotions. Jonah ran from God’s calling, but found that running only led to storms and delays. God’s correction brought him back, and surrender—not just invitation—was the key to restoration. The Israelites froze at the Red Sea, paralyzed by fear, forgetting God’s past victories. Yet, standing still in faith allowed them to witness God’s miraculous deliverance.
Finally, we saw that faith is not the absence of fear, but acting in spite of it. Daniel in the lion’s den didn’t fight, flee, or freeze—he prayed and trusted God. God shut the mouths of the lions, and Daniel’s faith was honored. Faith doesn’t always remove the danger, but it removes the power of danger over us. It brings peace in the midst of chaos and allows us to act courageously even when we’re afraid.
God’s invitation is clear: “Fear not, for I am with you.” Faith is not about never feeling fear, but about knowing that God is near. Whatever you face—whether you’re tempted to fight, run, or freeze—choose faith. Trust God to guide, protect, and provide. Step out in faith, and let Him lead you through fear to victory, peace, and freedom.
2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV) — > For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
1 Samuel 17:45-47 (ESV) — > Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Daniel 6:10, 21-22 (ESV) — > When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously...
> Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.”
God's rescue comes through our surrender—you know that from the very beginning I actually am challenging today this idea of giving your heart to Jesus asking to come into your heart that's an invitation but I believe God wants more than an invitation to come in your heart he wants you to surrender your heart surrender it. Think about that church the difference between hey Jesus come on in you're my guest and Lord I belong to you now I surrender it's a totally different thought in it so I want to encourage you if you haven't surrendered everything to Jesus I mean everything do it as soon as you can you will never regret it.
