1) "You know, it seems that we are full of faith for other people. We're believing God for something we see someone else going through, and we truly believe that our God is able to make a difference in that situation. But then it comes to ourselves. And so often we find ourselves questioning whether or not God sees us and whether or not God can do something about our circumstance. I'm sure many of us have felt the way that this man felt that day. You've said those words in your mind, maybe not aloud, I believe God. I believe, but help my unbelief. I believe, God, that You're able. I believe who You are. But God, help my unbelief." [07:13] (68 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2) "You see, faith is not just believing something. It's not just believing that something is. It is. It's actually. It's actually putting our trust in our belief in that thing. I've told you over and over. Faith always has an object. Faith is not just this substance, this thing in and of itself. Faith always has an object. We place our faith in something or someone. And that implies trust. You know, I can say all day long that I believe that my wife is going to be faithful to me. And she's going to be faithful to me. And she's going to honor our wedding vows. I can say I believe that. But if I don't trust that, I'm going to be eaten alive with jealousy and insecurity." [17:14] (52 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3) "You see, God wants us to trust that He is who He said He is. He wants us to rest on assurance that He is and that He can. And we're told in Hebrews chapter 11, verse 6, that without faith it's impossible to please Him. For he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. You see, God wants more than us to just believe. You know, the devil believes in God, and he even shudders in fear. God doesn't merely want us to believe in Him, He wants us to trust Him. Because you see, trust implies relationships. It implies that we know the object of our belief, and that we've begun to trust what we believe about that object. And that's how faith is formed." 4) "Jesus here is not promising that you have the power to name it and claim it. He's simply inviting you to see Him for who He is. To believe not only that He can, but to believe that He cares. You know, from the Word of God, we get our belief about Him. God. Romans chapter 10 verse 17 says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Your faith rests on the Word of God. What this book says about God is 100 % true, true, without any mixture of error. This is the inerrant Word of God. What it says is truth. And so our belief rests upon what the Bible says." 5) "Prayer is about getting to know God. It's about relating to Him, talking to Him. How many of us struggle just talking to God? I like honesty. How many of us spend our time when we do talking to God, asking for stuff? I want to ask you a question. Those of you who have kids in here. Caitlin, you've got four of them. You've got a lot of them. If the only time any of your four kids talk to you is when they want something. I mean, the only time they ever came to you, the only time they ever spoke a word to you, it was, hey mom, I won't. Hey mom, I need. Hey mom, I need you to do this. Mom, will you do this? Mom, will you help me? Mom, will you? Would that irritate you?" [30:30] (62 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

6) "God invites you to talk to Him. He don't want you to morph into somebody you're not. He invites you to talk to Him as you are. That means if you're not having a good day, God doesn't expect you to roll up in prayer and say, oh God, I just want to thank you for this great day I'm having. God knows. He's omniscient. He knows everything. He knows the day you're having. He invites you to come to Him and say, God, this day is really going horrible. God, this is the worst ever and I don't know why. In fact, God, I'm a little angry with you because you are allowing this to happen in my life and I don't understand it. And God, I've searched your Word and I've asked you to show me and you're not saying anything. You're quiet and it's really bothering me." 7) "Friends, that's the kind of God we serve. and if we don't have a healthy theology of suffering if we try to comprise a theology that that that doesn't have suffering in other words i'm supposed to be healthy wealthy and blessed and if i'm not i'm going to fake it because you see i won't make sure liz thinks i'm this spiritual giant and that she's not going to think i'm a spiritual giant if i'm sick or if i've got issues because that means i don't have no faith so i'm gonna fake it now i'm gonna lie call it what it is i'm gonna lie you can say fake it till you make it all that's a that's a dressed up word for saying lie i hate that phrase fake it till you make it my god don't want you to be fake my god wants you to be who you are my god wants you to be honest with him my god wants you to say to me bill bill how you doing bill this is a rough day i'm tired bill i mean i've been praying about this thing and god is not answering i don't understand it bill i don't understand why i'm i don't know why this is happening and i i'm trying i don't know bill that's what god wants from us authenticity he doesn't want me walking up to bill and say bill ask me how i'm doing oh i'm great bill when i'm dying inside because you see when i say to bill this has happened that is a cue bill to say pastor let me pray for you i can't fix it myself but you know what i know the man who can let's pray let's pray let's seek the father let's let's see what god's perspective on your suffering is because i promise you this no matter what suffering you're going through right now it does not escape god's notice he is with you in the middle of it and if you will listen to him he's going to teach you something about his faithfulness and he's going to teach you something about yourself and it's going to be an invitation for you to trust him more you know i'm thankful for every trial that god has allowed me to go through it means i like it but i'm thankful i'm thankful for every bad experience that's ever happened to me in my life i'm thankful for every bad experience that's ever happened to me in my life for every bad thing that's ever occurred in my life. You know why?" [54:00] (158 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

8) "Because it's just setting me up for a greater weight of God's glory. I'm going to see Him a little clearer and I'm going to know His love for me a lot more fiercely. So friends, instead of getting into a ball when bad things happen, look for Jesus. Look for Him. Because He cares for you. Make sure you're searching the Word of God to determine your belief. Make sure you're seeking Him in prayer. to raise your level of trust. God's going to marry those two things in your life and you're going to begin to have faith in God. And yes, I just said something without saying it. But now I'm going to say it. If you're not in the Word of God, you're subject to have deficient belief. Deficient belief."
