#ScriptureOverCircumstance
“``But a favorable circumstance doesn't necessarily mean that we're following God's direction. Yeah? Because if the path that we're walking contradicts what God has already revealed in his word, then an open door doesn't suddenly make it God's will. In other words, our circumstances don't interpret God's word. God's word helps us interpret our circumstances. Yeah? Like, scripture guys won't make every decision for us. But what scripture does do is it gives us the truth and wisdom that we need in order to discern whether the direction that we're headed is consistent with the character, the will, the word, the heartbeat of God Almighty.”

#AlignWithScripture
“And so here's what ends up happening. And I and, again, I've seen this over and over again. Here's what ends up happening. They end up making decisions that are contrary to the will of God, to his word, all while genuinely believing that they're following him. Right? They've got this narrative in their minds that they're following God, but they haven't actually looked to God for the answer or at least not through scripture. And listen, I wanna say something very clear to you. Right? I wanna say something very clear to you because I think revival in many ways actually starts right here. God's will for your will never contradict God's word to your life. His will for your life will never contradict his word to your life. In other words, God will never ever call you to something that is openly contrary to what his word speaks.”

#ScriptureTransformsDesire
“God doesn't want you to read scripture just so that you'll know more, just so that we'll fill our heads with knowledge. Right? That's not why God does it. God gives us his word because he wants us to be different. He want he he gives us his word. He wants us to study his word so that we can actually have more of him, be different, like him. Because the word doesn't just inform our minds, it re reforms our desires. It doesn't just fill our minds, inform our minds. It actually reforms the very desires in our heart. It patterns our heart to be more like Jesus, more after Jesus. In other words, our desires point the compass. Our desires point the compass, but it's scripture that reorients our desires to God. Amen?”

#ComeBackHungry
“Guys, if your compass right now isn't pointing to Jesus, there's no condemnation in that. There really isn't. And and I know a lot of church experiences have have have have kind of, like, made it out to be this this horrible thing. Right? But if your compass isn't pointed to Jesus, there's no condemnation. You know what there is? There's an invitation. There's no condemnation. There's an invitation to come back to him, to hunger again. So let's make our prayer for today, church. God, will you make us hungry again? To reorient our hearts, to reform our desires, and to speak directly to us through his word, and to form us into the people that he has called us to be.”

#MakeMeHungryAgain
“And so I think the message for all of us today, it's not just to be better at reading our devotions. Right? It's not just about checking off a box in the morning. I actually think that the prayer for us today is, God, make me hungry again. Make me hungry again. Give me a hunger for your presence. Give me a hunger for your voice. Give me a hunger to know Jesus more deeply. Give me a hunger to know your so that you can use your word to to direct me, to redirect me, to sustain me when my compass starts to drift.”

#GuardYourAttention
“We're constantly pulled in thousands of directions, it seems. Like, we live in an unprecedented culture of attention. Social media, news, right, this twenty four seven news cycle that is just so chaotic, right, and is just so toxic for our souls. Right? We have politics, right, entertainment, and all of this is available at all times and in all ways. Everybody everybody that we know and everybody that is out there on TV, on our on all the different channels, everyone wants a piece of our attention because everybody understands something that is fundamental to our humanity. That if I can capture your attention long enough, I can shape your desire. If I can capture your attention long enough, I can shape your desire.”

#HungerForTheFather
“Guys, Jesus had a very legitimate hunger. But but he understood. Right? He understood that physical hunger, is a deeper hunger with deeper purpose. Right? Underneath of that physical hunger is a deeper hunger with deeper purpose. A hunger for the for the father's voice. A hunger for his good and perfect will in his life. A hunger for his very real presence, walking with him day by day all throughout the day. Because Jesus knows what he wants most, and his compass was fixed on the father. Like, he refused to let a temporary appetite redirect his deepest desire. And listen. We all have appetites for many things, and they aren't all bad. Right? They're not all bad, but not every appetite deserves to determine our attention, our direction. And Jesus demonstrates what a life completely oriented God looks like. He's like, I need something so much more than bread, so much deeper than food. I need the voice. I need the word of my father.”

#RevivalFormsThroughWord
“Guys, that's what happened in Acts chapter two. Right? The spirit moved, and they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching. That's what we see happening in the the Jesus revolution. People encountering Jesus, and and their hunger found a new direction, a new path. And I believe that that's what God wants to do in us. That's what I believe God wants to do in us. I believe that God right now today can actually awaken something in us that has been dormant, maybe for a long time, that he he can reorient a heart that has maybe drifted, that he can steady the compass that is spinning. I believe that God can make us hungry again even right here and right now Because revival awakens a hunger for God's word, and God's word forms the people that revival creates. It literally forms us to be more like him.”
