All right, so again, thank you all for being here this morning. For those who don't know me, my name is Julio Hernandez, I'm one of the pastors here at Crosspoint Church. So we're now on our sixth week into the book of Daniel. And if you've been following along, the book of Daniel has been exciting. I mean, it just kind of brings you in as you read along. [00:30:53]

And it's evident that Daniel has continued to stand firm in his faith. He's continued to honor God as he faces these challenges. And Daniel and his friends have also remained faithful and steadfast. You see, as I looked further into the two chapters, I found that they consisted of these common themes. [00:32:00]

And you have faithfulness during difficult times. For example, when Daniel and his friends demonstrate unwavering faith in God while facing these life challenges. We have God's favor, which led to the eunuch not allowing Daniel to defile himself, him and his friends, by not eating the king's food or drinking the wine that the king drank. [00:32:49]

So holding back the wrath from the king, the dream being interpreted spared the life of not only Daniel and his friends, but all wise men of Babylon, it says. And you see, I think about how life could have been so different if Daniel wouldn't have had faith. Right? If his faith did not consist in the almighty God, where would his life be? [00:33:18]

And if you follow along, you'll see that Daniel is just not willing to compromise his character. And he understands that if there's anyone that can change a situation, change a heart, or can allow him to gain favor, it is his God. You see, the last two chapters has covered how Daniel has just continued to walk with God, abide with God. [00:34:13]

How many of us know that if it wasn't for God, we would not be here today? If it wasn't for God and his mercy, we would not be here today. See, life could have turned out so much different for many of us, but God has a plan. A plan to set us apart so that we might be saved. [00:35:11]

Life can be many things, but without God, I've learned that it can start to make us feel lost, disconnected, and overwhelmed. Now, you see, life without God is filled with uncertainty, which is why we need to seek him each and every day. So this leads me to my question is, why is it important to maintain our relationship with God? [00:35:49]

Then Daniel went to his house and made the matter known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, and told them to seek mercy from God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. [00:37:06]

And as I looked at this it really points out one important thing that Daniel understand who is in control of his life. I get the sense that he knows if there is anyone who can make the impossible possible it is God. So that's why you see him run to tell his friends seek God he wants them to pray because he needs God. [00:43:47]

Seeking his mercy brings honor to his name it shows that we rely on God's power rather than the wisdom of man why because God has the power to change things man's power and wisdom is limited and Daniel and his friends also demonstrate the importance of prayer and intercession in times of crisis it shows how important it is to have a prayer life. [00:45:13]

Prayer and intercession are a vital part of a Christian's life have you ever met someone who couldn't pray for themselves think about that for a second you might say well can this person not talk can this person not you know well how can they not pray for themselves there's people that face challenges in their life that they're so wrapped up and caught up in that challenge that they don't have the strength to pray for themselves. [00:45:56]

Seeking God's mercy is our protection our freedom and our deliverance the steadfast love of God is eternal you see Daniel is a wonderful example to us and this should be a reminder that when times come because they will come those challenging times will come I don't doesn't matter who you are you're going to go through something but when you do remain unwavering in your faith. [00:53:18]
