Faith and Perseverance: Triumph Over Trauma

Summary

In today's message, we explored the theme "Traumatized but Still Triumphant," drawing inspiration from the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8:43-48. This narrative serves as a powerful reminder that even in the midst of trauma and adversity, triumph is possible through faith and perseverance. The woman in the story had been suffering for 12 long years, trying everything within her power to find healing, yet it was her tenacity and faith in Jesus that ultimately led to her miraculous transformation. Her story is a testament to the fact that no situation is hopeless when we place our trust in God.

We live in a world where trauma is prevalent, from natural disasters to personal losses, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed. However, just as the woman reached out to touch Jesus and found healing, we too can find solace and strength in our relationship with God. The key is to remain tenacious, to keep our heads up, and to look for new opportunities that God places before us. It's about being sincere in our faith and not just going through the motions. When we approach God with a genuine heart, He meets us where we are and provides the breakthrough we need.

As we move forward into a new year, let us be reminded that our past does not define our future. The challenges we face are opportunities for God to demonstrate His power and love in our lives. We are encouraged to be bold in our faith, to step out of our comfort zones, and to trust that God is working all things together for our good. Even when we tremble with uncertainty, we can be assured that God is with us, ready to turn our trauma into triumph.

Quotes

And I can go on and on about the things that have taken place and that have put a dent in the faith of men and women across the world. Come on. But as I think about those events, I am also reminded that we have overcome all of these events that have taken place and we will overcome the events that are taking place. Come on. How do I know? Because we've come through September 11th. Come on. We've come through the home crisis that left a lot of people broke. We have come through facing all kinds of stuff. And now, dear brothers and sisters, please know that we will come through these things that we are facing right now. And I've just come this morning to remind each and every last one of us to stand ten toes down on the fact that God will never leave us and He will never forsake us. I don't know what you're dealing with, but stand ten toes down on the truth that no matter what trauma you are dealing with, you will come out triumphant. [00:06:17] (73 seconds)

Come on, she was dealing with a lot, but the moment that she touched Jesus, she touched the hem of his garment, everything changed. She was facing an impossible situation, but she came in contact with a possible God. Come on, you might be dealing with an impossible situation, but we know that we have a God that we know that we are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. There is no impossible situation with God. There are no hopeless predicament with the Lord, and your situation is because we understand it, brothers and sisters, that we are standing on the truth that nothing is hopeless with the Lord. [00:09:04] (51 seconds)

And the reason why this woman was able to be triumphant is because I see here that number one, she was tenacious. This woman was tenacious. Verse 43 says, this ain't a woman having an issue of blood. What? 12 years. Good Lord. 12 years. And please understand this, dear brothers and sisters, I don't know about you, but in my mind, 12 years is a long time to deal with anything. Come on. Because when you think about the number 12, for most of us, dear brothers and sisters, when we think about the number 12, most of the time, the first thing that comes in our mind is it takes the average person 12 years to graduate out of high school. Come on. When you think about the number 12, you think about going journey from elementary to middle to high school. Come on. And when you think about 12 years, some of us also think about, which is rare nowadays, 12 years on a particular job. Come on. Anybody got 12 years on one particular job? Raise your hand. Let me see. Yeah. A few, few, few. Just a few of y 'all. Come on. [00:10:59] (83 seconds)

Okay, a few y 'all. Yeah. See? So, the number 12, dear brothers and sisters, it brings a lot of memory, but it's also a reminder that 12 years is a long time to deal with anything. Come on. And the thing that it made me realize is that she was willing to wait 12 years just to get her blessing. Come on. And what I like about this woman is she had in her mind that I will reach my blessing, my breakthrough, no matter how long it takes. Come on. And we need many women of God in here that sit there and say, it might take five years, it might take 10 years, but I am willing to wait out. Why? Because I am tenacious. She tried her doctor. She tried her friend, but now she has finally had the opportunity to try Jesus. [00:12:01] (56 seconds)

As I get ready to dive into this, dear brothers and sisters, who are you touching? Who are you coming in contact with that's not changing your life? Come on. Who are you touching, dear brothers and sisters, that's not having the impact that God has called you to have? Because watch this. And Jesus said, who touched me? He says, who touched me? Watch this. Because the thing that I like about us as Christians is we love coming to church. Come on. And I ain't, listen, don't take what I'm about to say and then sit there and say, pastor's saying, you ain't got to come to church. No, people were coming to church. They were watching. They were a part of the crowd, dear brothers and sisters. But watch this. This woman made a connection with Jesus that got his attention and stopped him in his track. [00:17:40] (64 seconds)

And dear brothers and sisters, you are triumphant when you are tripling. Trembling. I will triumph because I was trembling. Come on. It made me really think, was this woman also expecting to be blessed? She was in the crowd. She was hoping, but then when she got it, she was almost also shocked. Come on. Why is she also shocked? Because now, watch this. The crowd turned their eyes and they looked at her. [00:22:21] (40 seconds)

She was triumphant because she sat there and said, as I bring this to a close, she sat there and said, dear brothers and sisters, I understand that I'm not worthy of this, but I'm glad you did it anyway. When God starts blessing you and start opening new opportunities and start helping you overcome your trauma, start saying, I ain't worthy, but I thank you. As God begin to heal you, start saying, God, I ain't worthy, but I appreciate it. As God start doing new things in your life, oh, God is asking everybody in here and those of us watching online to sit there and say, God, you know what? I appreciate it. Why? Because you helped me overcome trauma. [00:27:37] (55 seconds)
