"I get a little long-winded up here so good morning everyone today we have first Sunday so as we discussed last month we will have communion on first Sundays and as we prepare to take the bread and drink the cup please consider why we have communion so first and foremost we have communion because Jesus commanded this in Luke chapter 22 he took the bread and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them saying do this in remembrance of me and so we do this in remembrance of Christ now I also want you to be reminded as we take communion as we discussed last year going through that passage that this is also an opportunity for us to restore fellowship and think about the fellowship we have in the body and in the blood and so as we take communion I would like for us to take a moment of prayer to think about anything that might be separating us from Christ and then we will go forward and take communion so let's pray heavenly father we pray that you will ease our hearts today that you will give us a clear heart and a clear mind that we might be focused on you alone Lord that we wouldn't be focused on those things of this world that are trying to distract us from your greatness your awesomeness your glory so Lord as we come together today and we take communion doing this in remembrance of you help us to see you clearer through the ordinance and we pray to you and praise you in Jesus name amen in 1 Corinthians 11 27 excuse me 11 23 the apostle Paul presents communion as this he says for I receive from the Lord what I also deliver to you that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed he took bread and when he had given thanks he broke it and said this is my body which is for you do this and remember it to me take and eat" [00:17:26]

"And in verse 26 the apostle Paul says something that is powerful that we must keep in mind he says for as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes so let's continue proclaim the life and death of Christ and the resurrection of Christ in our lives today and every day forward let's give him praise and let's give him honor in Jesus name amen" [00:20:12]

"Life is often filled with challenges that test our resolve. Some of you went through some serious challenges. I mean, in the last year, you can just think back, even by me saying those words, man, the challenges that I went through, that challenged my strength and my resolve. And during difficult moments, many find themselves questioning their faith and their purpose. However, it's in these trials that we can witness the truth that God uses adversity as a means to reveal his presence in our lives, to reveal his greatness in our lives, to reveal his divine purposes. And these experiences not only challenge us, but also serve to deepen our faith and understanding." [00:33:44]

"As we navigate through hardships, we become more attuned to his presence, allowing us to see him clearer, moving in ways that we have often overlooked during easier times. So let's go ahead and look at Daniel Chapter 2. Because one of the things that I see in this moment in the passage is there is an impossible task laid before Daniel. There is immense pressure on both Daniel and the wise men of Babylon. And I think that there is something that can be said and revealed through this passage today about how pressure is used in our lives." [00:34:41]

"The king presented himself as all-powerful. But as Scripture tells us, the king had these dreams, and that caused him to lose sleep. See, when dreams caused me to lose sleep, I understand that I'm dealing with a lot of anxiety. This great, strong, all-powerful, presenting himself all-powerful person was dealing with anxiety. He couldn't even sleep. He was strong and confident on the outside, but on the inside, he was confused and he was concerned, understanding that he was quite limited in reality." [00:43:14]

"Both the king and the wise men were dependent on human wisdom and understanding. And that ended with distrust, fear, threats, and anger. But even under greater pressure, a Hebrew slave in Babylon, in the presence of the king, Daniel revealed faith. So, an impossible circumstance created the pressure that revealed the substance of their faith. And we can't see what's happening with people on the inside under normal circumstances, but you see a whole lot about a person when they got pressure on them. You understand? Are you seeing that in your life?" [00:46:23]

"Pressure reveals our identity. Who is your trust in? Who is at the center of your life? I find it funny that the identity of the Israelites was very clear in Numbers 13. After the spies returned with their report of the promised land, they were like, Man, I mean, this land was flowing with milk and honey. You should see the grapes. They brought back fruit from the place. Folks are like, Man, this looks amazing. And they had this great land that they were impressed with, but they were not willing to follow God to go get it. The pressure of the situation revealed their distrust of God's sovereignty." [00:47:09]

"Pressure reveals our beliefs. See, the king believed that he was in control of all things. And he believed that if he had a problem that he needed interpretation for, he had a tool for it. If he had an issue that he had to deal with, he had a tool for it. So if someone was coming to attack Babylon, he had an army. We go deal with that. I got a tool for that. Have you ever heard on your phone there's an app for that?" [00:51:02]

"Daniel immediately saw God's wisdom because he believed that God could and would intervene. He believed that God could and would work through the situation. He believed that God was present, that God would answer, and that God would intervene. Where he placed his faith made all the difference. See, pressure reveals our beliefs. Can God do the impossible? Do you think God can do the impossible? Now the question is, do you think that God can do the impossible in your life?" [00:52:06]

"Pressure reveals what we truly believe about God's sovereignty. It exposes us. But the reality is that it's a good thing for us because it helps us to recognize the areas in our lives where we need to grow and put our faith in him, not in our own understanding. It gives us an opportunity to grow closer to him." [00:58:31]

"Daniel had the world on his shoulders. Death was knocking at the door. All the other magicians, Chaldeans, enchanters, sorcerers, they're before the king, and their life is in danger. He has already said the decree, and it was firm, that they would die if they can't do this. They were going to go ahead, and he was going to go ahead, and they already started the process of executing them, sending out the captain of the guard to execute them. Consider the boldness of Daniel." [00:59:18]

"Daniel, a Hebrew slave, to say, let me go talk to the king. Who are you? Daniel says, let me go talk to the king and ask the king for some time. We can see that the king could have denied his request, but once again, God had already prepared the way for this moment when he gave Daniel favor with the king. And this revealed Daniel's confidence. He wasn't afraid of what the king could do to him because he was walking in the spirit. He was walking with God. Pressure reveals our confidence." [01:00:00]
