"Daniel tells him the dream then he gives him an interpretation of the dream there was a large image represented four gentile nations the first represented the Babylonian nation a head of gold they had power now but then the second represented the Persian nation breasts and arms of silver they would overthrow Babylon the third was the Grecian belly of thighs of bronze that's the kingdom under Alexander the Great that would be the greatest Empire ever in the history of empires up into that point and would lay the groundwork for Jesus and the Roman Empire to come into being and that's who took over next the Roman Empire legs of iron feet of iron and clay here is the message that Daniel has for King Nebo and it's a message that's true to us today it teaches us that every human enterprise will decline in time the image changed in value from head to foot strength at the top weakest at the bottom that means the power of the people the power of the people that means it was top heavy that means the weight of gold was 10 times heavier than the clay and the weight of silver was five times heavier than that of clay what that means is that every human structure will topple over in its own weight eventually in other words nations appear to be strong but they're always susceptible to falling over and crashing down feet of the image were composed of a mixture of iron and clay iron is strong but clay is weak the iron gives the image that it's stronger than it really is but the clay will crumble no matter what we put on what kind of earthly armor you have how much money you make we are still just clay" [00:36:47] (137 seconds)

"we were made from dust and one day dust we shall return but here's the hope in the text and i'm done it's found here in verse 45 daniel says in as much as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it broke in pieces the iron the bronze the clay the silver and the gold the great god has made known to the king what will come to pass after this you're ready for this the destruction of the image represented the coming of jesus and the establishment of the kingdom of god and the establishment of god's kingdom which is greater than all the other kingdoms the dream reveals that god's kingdom will outlive every superpower a stone destroyed it all a stone is a common image used in scripture to symbolize the messiah jesus christ the son of god isaiah called him the cornerstone you matthew mark and luke called him the rejected stone peter called him the living stone and daniel is calling him the soon coming stone he is the rock of ages clap for me let me hide myself in thee let the water and the blood from thy wounded side which flowed be of sin and double cure save" [00:39:05] (115 seconds)
