#SinAndRepentance
“Sin has weight, and God takes it far more seriously than we do. We don't want to say that sin has a weight. Right? But the drama here is showing that sin has a duration, a history. It accumulates, and the Lord is taking it very seriously, more seriously than the people, and by extension, more seriously than we do we're honest today. And so our tendency is we minimize sin, we downplay it, we ignore it, we move on. But I think our hope as disciples is not to minimize, but to identify it and then bring it into the gospel light through faith and confession and repentance and letting the Lord deal with it.”

#FaithInHardTimes
“Seasons of scarcity have the capacity to reveal what we have actually been trusting in. You see, remember, the siege bread, not the Ezekiel bread of today, but the original siege bread, the starvation bread, it symbolized scarcity, and it was revealing all the wrong things, all the false hopes, all the wrong allegiances and loves that they had over generations. And so I think for the same way for us, when abundance comes and then it's stripped away, I mean, what remains for you? Right? What do you turn to? Who do you what do you reach for? Think about in your life when those things are stripped away. You know, the job suddenly changes. The the counts empty. Right? Your health has shifted quickly. I mean, what do you reach for?”

#PowerOfTheCross
“The cross. And what is the the symbol of the cross? Jesus dying. Right? What does it communicate? The cross shows us, that strength comes through weakness, the way of Jesus. It shows us that true power descends. It doesn't dominate. The cross shows us the last will become first or or forgiveness is the the currency of the kingdom. The cross shows us sacrifice over self preservation, and the cross shows us how shame is transformed into glory. And so we see his entire ministry from the manger all the way to the cross. Yes. He used words, but also his entire life was a living parable. And he didn't lie, of course, we know, in the streets symbolically, but he hung on a cross, the ultimate sign act.”
