"Hi, I'm Beth Currier, and I'm excited to do the first Lunchtime Seminary at Pillar: How to Read Proverbs. Proverbs is all about wisdom, but what is wisdom in Proverbs? It's not uncommon for people to compare Proverbs to Job and Ecclesiastes and see the wisdom in Proverbs as naive and simplistic. Proverbs seems to say over and over that good people always get good things and people who do bad things always suffer a consequence." [00:65:76]

"What the wicked person dreads will come upon them, but the desire of the righteous will be granted. We know the world doesn't always work this way, so how do we read Proverbs? Proverbs is more than what a quick page through it will turn up. There's a lot going on in this book, and for 10 weeks in Lunchtime Seminary, we'll see that Proverbs and the wisdom it teaches are both rich and multifaceted." [00:94:16]

"Proverbs has a lot to say about what matters most to us: how to flourish in relationships, our friendships, marriages, and parenting, in our walks with God, in the work we do, in being owners of possessions, and members of communities. Wisdom in Proverbs is about far more than being a good person and getting good things." [00:118:08]

"Proverbs is the Bible's elementary course on wisdom, which is where we probably all need to start. More than how the world works, Proverbs is concerned with how we work in the world. We'll either embody wisdom, or we won't. Come study Proverbs with me in Lunchtime Seminary and see all this elementary course in wisdom has to offer." [00:137:20]

"As we read in Proverbs 4, the beginning of wisdom is this: get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight. I hope to see you in March." [00:159:84]

"Hi, my name is Kevin Kim, and I'm the CEO of Bazel Technologies, and we're working on something really cool with our friends over at Pillar Seminary. It's called Lunchtime Seminary. Our passion is to bring world-class Bible training to everyone and everywhere, and that's why we came up with this thing called Lunchtime Seminary." [00:00:16]

"It's geared toward people in the marketplace, but anybody can sign up, and our first prototype class is with this amazing Bible scholar named Dr. Beth Currier, and that class is called How to Read Proverbs, and she's going to walk us through what biblical wisdom is, how to get wisdom, and we all need wisdom." [00:19:27]

"And there's going to be a live Q&A where we can ask her questions, and you're going to have amazing dialogue with your fellow classmates. But here's the thing: there's only 50 slots available, and so it's first come, first serve. Sign up now, don't miss this opportunity. Now I'm gonna let Beth talk about her class." [00:42:96]
