Expecting Breakthrough: Faith, Declarations, and God's Promises

Summary

Today, we are reminded to come before God with expectation and intentionality. As we reach the end of the sixth month, it is important to pause and reflect on all that God has done for us, giving Him thanks for His faithfulness and provision. But we are also called to look forward, to set our expectations for the second half of the year, and to bring our needs, desires, and areas of bondage before the Lord in prayer. Faith is not passive; it is active, and it is expressed through our declarations, our prayers, and our refusal to accept defeat or limitation.

Scripture assures us that God has already proclaimed victory over our lives. We are encouraged to make bold decrees, to bind and loose according to the authority given to us, and to speak out what we believe, knowing that heaven responds to our faith-filled words. The promises of God are clear: He will fight for us, He will scatter our enemies, and He will be with us through every trial—whether waters, rivers, or fire. No weapon formed against us will prosper, and every tongue that rises in judgment is condemned. Our righteousness is not our own, but is given to us through Christ, and this is our heritage as servants of the Lord.

We are not alone in our battles. The Spirit of the Lord raises a standard against every flood of the enemy, and the host of heaven is on our side. Ministering angels are sent to serve us, and God Himself is our defense. Even when opposition comes, as in the story of blind Bartimaeus, we must refuse to be silenced. Our breakthrough often requires persistence, a willingness to cry out to Jesus despite the rebuke or discouragement of others. When we cast aside the garments of our past and declare our needs before the Lord, He responds with immediate transformation.

As we pray, we are to ask for fruitfulness in every area—health, business, family, and spiritual life. We pray for God’s grace and favor to take us where our abilities cannot. We ask Him to uproot every evil seed and to bless the work of our hands, granting us long life, prosperity, and fulfillment of purpose. Above all, we seal our prayers with thanksgiving, confident that God hears and answers, and that our testimonies will manifest in due season.

Key Takeaways

- Expectation is the foundation of faith. Coming into God’s presence should never be a routine; it is an opportunity to prepare our hearts, set our expectations, and believe for God’s intervention. When we list our needs and desires before Him, we are actively engaging our faith and inviting God to move in our lives. [33:06]

- Victory is not just a future hope but a present reality declared by God. The authority to bind, loose, and decree is given to us, and what we establish on earth is established in heaven. Our declarations, rooted in God’s Word, are powerful tools for manifesting His promises and breaking free from every limitation. [35:20]

- God’s presence guarantees our deliverance and gladness, regardless of the opposition we face. Whether we walk through waters, fire, or face enemies, God’s promise is to be with us, to fight for us, and to ensure that no weapon or accusation prevails. Our gladness is a testimony to the victory we have in Him. [39:44]

- Persistence in prayer and faith is essential for breakthrough. Like blind Bartimaeus, we must refuse to be silenced by circumstances or people. Our determination to cry out to Jesus, even when others try to discourage us, positions us for divine attention and immediate transformation. [54:53]

- Fruitfulness and elevation come by God’s grace, not by our own strength. We are to pray for the Holy Spirit to turn our wilderness into a fruitful field, for God’s favor to open doors our qualifications cannot, and for every evil seed to be uprooted. Our prayers, sealed with thanksgiving and the blood of Jesus, secure our victory and testimonies. [01:06:08]

Devotional

Day 1: Expectation and Faith—Prepare Your Heart for God’s Move
God calls us to come before Him with expectation, not as a routine, but with faith that He will act in our lives. When we prepare ourselves and bring our needs, desires, and thanksgiving before God, we position ourselves to receive His blessings and breakthroughs. Expectation is an act of faith, and God honors the faith of those who come to Him believing that He will do what He has promised. As you make your list of needs and hopes, trust that God is able and willing to meet you where you are and bring about transformation. [33:06]

Proverbs 23:18 (ESV)
Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.

Reflection: What is one specific area where you need God to move? Write it down and pray with expectation, believing God will answer.

Day 2: Decree and Declare—The Power of Your Words
Scripture teaches that what we bind on earth is bound in heaven, and what we loose is loosed in heaven. Our declarations, made in faith, have spiritual authority. When we decree God’s promises over our lives, we establish His will and invite His intervention. Don’t remain silent about your needs or victories—speak them out, trusting that God honors the words of faith spoken by His children. Let your declarations be bold, rooted in God’s Word, and persistent until you see the manifestation. [35:20]

Job 22:28 (ESV)
You will decide on a matter, and it will be established for you, and light will shine on your ways.

Reflection: What promise from God’s Word do you need to declare over your life today? Speak it out loud and trust God to establish it.

Day 3: God Fights for You—Fear Not, Stand Still
No matter the challenges or adversaries you face, God promises to fight for you. He calls you to replace fear with faith, to stand still and see His salvation. The battles you encounter are not yours alone; God is with you, and He will bring deliverance. Even when the enemy seems overwhelming, God’s presence ensures victory and peace. Trust in His assurance that the enemies you see today, you will see no more, for the Lord Himself will fight for you and give you rest. [37:40]

Exodus 14:13-14 (ESV)
And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

Reflection: What fear or battle do you need to surrender to God today, trusting Him to fight for you?

Day 4: Refuse to Be Silenced—Persistent Faith Breaks Through
Like blind Bartimaeus, breakthrough often comes to those who refuse to be silenced by opposition or discouragement. When others tried to quiet him, he cried out all the more, determined to receive his miracle. Your persistence in prayer and faith, even when others misunderstand or oppose you, draws the attention of heaven. Don’t let intimidation, shame, or the opinions of others keep you from pressing into God for your breakthrough. Shout out your need, declare your faith, and watch as Jesus responds to your cry. [54:08]

Mark 10:46-52 (ESV)
And they came to Jericho. And as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.” And throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.

Reflection: Where have you been tempted to give up or stay silent? How can you persist in faith and prayer today, regardless of opposition?

Day 5: Fruitfulness and Favor—Trusting God for Supernatural Increase
God desires to turn your wilderness into a fruitful field and to bless the work of your hands beyond what your abilities can achieve. His grace and favor open doors that no one can shut, bringing fruitfulness in every area—health, work, family, and spiritual life. As you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to remove every limitation and to cause you to flourish. Trust that God’s supernatural power will elevate you, provide for you, and fulfill the number of your days with blessing and purpose. [01:07:47]

Deuteronomy 28:12 (ESV)
The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

Reflection: In what area of your life do you need to see God’s supernatural fruitfulness? Ask the Holy Spirit to bring increase and favor where you need it most.

Quotes

The only thing that can stand in the way of you receiving what God is about to accomplish is fear. Amen. So, he said what? Fear not, which means remove fear out of the way. Now, wherever there is no fear, there is faith. And wherever there is fear, there is no faith. Hallelujah. So, instead of fear, have faith in God. Have confidence in God. Have trust in God. And see the salvation of the Lord. [00:37:12] (31 seconds)  #FaithOverFear Edit Clip

I refuse. To be silenced. For my breakthrough. In the name of Jesus. I refuse to be silenced. Don't allow anybody to silence you. Praise the Lord. Don't allow anybody to shut you off. In the name of Jesus. [00:51:26] (16 seconds)  #RefuseToBeSilenced Edit Clip

Don't allow how somebody feels. About your determination for your breakthrough to stop you. Because sometimes you are just at the verge of your deliverance. You are just at the verge of your possession. Thank you. And then, you are afraid. You are shy because of people. Don't be intimidated by people. Praise the Lord. Your shouting will draw heaven's attention. Your shouting will draw Jesus' attention. In the mighty name of Jesus. This is how this man got his breakthrough. This is how things change for him. He did not sit by and say, Oh, I'm a blind person. Let me just, you know, be careful and stay in my corner. No, no, no, no, no. [00:56:05] (22 seconds)  #ShoutForBreakthrough Edit Clip
