#PovertyOfExpectation
“There's a kind of poverty in this world that has absolutely nothing at all to do with money. You can have a very fat and healthy bank account, and you can still be desperately poor. Because the poorest of the poor, I believe, are those who live in poverty of expectation. In our world, we've gotten very used to staying the same that we stop believing that things could change. The poorest of the poor has accepted the ordinary, the mundane, the average, the everyday as permanent. You might say that they've made up in their mind to be settled. And the worst part is that sometimes that mentality of poverty follows us right into the house of God.”

#ObeyAndOverflow
“But those servants heard a woman say, whatever this man says to do, do it. And those servants obeyed. They filled those pots not halfway, not partially, not just enough to get the inside of the pot wet, but I believe that they filled them to the point of overflowing. And then, at the moment of their obedience is when Jesus begins to do his thing in the middle of the circumstance. That's when the water turns into wine. Better wine than what they had even had at the beginning of the feast. They said, you've saved the best for last. You better believe Jesus always saves the best for last. That's just the way it works in his kingdom.”

#FaithIsSubstance
“Expectation and faith is not just wishful thinking, it's the substance of things hoped for, it's the evidence of things that are not yet seen. It says, God, I bring you this need, and I know that it looks bad on paper, or I know that it looks bad right in front of me, but you're able exceedingly, abundantly above all that I could ask or think. I'm needing you to move, God. I'm coming ready to receive whatever it is you have for me.”

#ExpectGodToMove
“But if we're not expecting God to do something extraordinary, every time we walk into the doors of this church, every time we lift our hands in prayer and in praise, if we're not expecting God to be able to do something extraordinary in our lives, and in our church, and in our community, we're living in a poverty of expectation, And it's a serious sickness of the soul.”

#ExpectationAttracts
“And so when you create an expectation for something great, that faith, that expectation becomes like a container for it, like a big bucket to be able to receive it. When you, with faith and expectation, believe God for something great, it's as though you are creating an atmosphere. You're creating something in the spirit that attracts the manifestation of God's power to come and work.”

#ThinkBigAboutGod
“But it requires something of us first. It requires us to lay down that poverty of expectation. It requires us to stop thinking small and stop thinking like God has been downgraded somehow because he isn't. He hasn't been. He's still the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. He's still got that same power that pulled Jesus up out of that grave. He's still got that same power that poured out his spirit on the day of Pentecost. When you expect something great, you are able to create an atmosphere where the miraculous can happen.”

#FaithOverFinances
“Peter didn't have any money. The man begging at the gate probably had more money jangling in his beggar's cup at that moment than Peter and John did. But what Peter and John did have was faith and expectation. Peter and John, Peter believed that the name of Jesus had the power to do the impossible. He didn't look at that man and said, hey, do you wanna consider giving this a try? Well, maybe we'll see what God will do. Peter spoke with someone who had authority. He spoke like someone who already knew what was about to happen.”

#ComeReadyToReceive
“When you come to church with low expectations, it's as though you're telling God, well, I'm not really expecting you to show up and to move today. I'm kinda hoping to see something nice, but I'm not really coming in with the mentality and positioning to be ready for the supernatural. But when we come expecting something great, when we fill our pots to the brim, what we're really saying is, God, I am ready to receive whatever you have. I'm believing, I'm positioned to receive whatever it is that you want to do.”
