“Actually, we are adopted brothers and sisters into the family of God. More specifically, God has done in the gospel, through the gospel, through his incredible, miraculous, gracious, redemptive work, he has taken people who are natural enemies, and he's made us supernatural siblings. Democrats and Republicans, self righteous people, and people who came out of addiction. Men and women, people from different ethnic categories, people from different nationalities. Right? We here in El Cajon Alpine are not the only Christians. We know there are Christians in China, in Africa, and many, many other places. Praise God.”

“That makes it easier, doesn't it? Now we can better focus on what is on your plate. One thing we all can do is we all can do the labor of prayer. Because God has in mind specific means. And he tells us in the book of James, you do not have because you do not ask. So we pray for God to accomplish his will in all these different things. Right? Somebody to get healthy, a lost person to get saved, some other stressful issue to be resolved. Right? Like, we pray about all these different things because God asks us to. He wants us to. His plan is for us to be people of prayer.”

“It's so crucial for churches to put leaders in place who have a godly character. We don't have anybody here on staff who's perfect. We don't have any volunteer here who's perfect. You're not looking at somebody who's perfect. That's not what we're talking about. We're talking about somebody who is repentant, somebody who's seen their sin, acknowledged their sin, and is actively working to walk away from that sin, is actively trying to walk towards Christ, the grace of Christ, the power of Christ, the truth of Christ, the righteousness of Christ so that we can get that further and further back on the rear horizon.”
