“But then the situation goes from treatable to impossible. She goes from being sick to being dead. By the time Jesus gets there, those people in that room crying, making noise, hollering and hooping, but also they have unbelief. And before he ever performs a miracle, Jesus has to change the environment because God will not do a resurrection in a room full of doubt. So before Jesus raises the girl, he silences the noise. He removes the doubters, and he creates a space where faith can be demonstrated.”

“And just maybe, just maybe, just maybe, that's the problem with some of our churches today. It's not that God doesn't have the power. It's the doubt that has too much permission. The issue in our churches is not a lack of God's power, is that we've made room for doubt and given it a voice that is never supposed to have. God's power has never been the problem. The problem is that we have allowed unbelief to sit comfortably in places where faith should have been leading.”
