Eternal life sent him into doxological orbit as it ought to us so consider how each of these pieces here relates to eternal life first he is the king of Ages that means he is Sovereign or ruler over all time and all eternity so King over time King over all eternity. [00:05:02]

I think Incorruptible is important because immortality in a sense is the result of incorruptibility this means that nothing and no one can ruin or end God if he's incorrupt able then he is yes Immortal which means he can't come to ruin he can't come to an end and therefore he is perfectly able to sustain eternal life. [00:06:04]

God is in another realm entirely than the material real visible image reality of this world and therefore this too underlines his eternity he can't be destroyed his image can't be lost or destroyed the only God how does that relate to Eternity no competitors to defeat him or bring him to an end. [00:07:24]

He gives eternal life as the king over eternity as the one who cannot be ruined or Ended as the one who is not material and whose image cannot be damaged or lost or destroyed as the one who is absolutely unique and has zero competitors it's not as though he's the greatest god he's the only God. [00:08:40]

Therefore he will be what he will be forever and ever and ever and therefore our eternal life is firmly rooted in the way God is and now comes let us therefore as Heirs of eternal life honor him and glorify him or ascribe to him the honor that he has and the glory that he has. [00:09:14]

Honor is um dignity which perhaps you could say is composed of greatness Plus Integrity or virtue and worth and the greater ones worth and the greater ones integrity and the greater ones greatness the more dignity or the more honor they have and I'm distinguishing it from so Glory. [00:09:42]

Glory is ordinarily used for the radiance of the honor the beauty and I know he has called himself invisible here but the fact that he is invisible doesn't stop Paul from ascribing to him glory which means he can break out of this invisibility in showing himself in various ways through the way he works. [00:10:56]

The takeaway here is to let verse 17 the doxology inform our minds and our hearts of how Paul feels as he writes he doesn't just describe things he doesn't just formulate Doctrine there comes a point after he has opened the preciousness of eternal life for himself and for those who would believe. [00:11:36]

He simply explodes not only with thanks but now with praise and doxology and that's the way we ought to be we ought to do theology that way and do life that way may God grant us to treasure the gift and hope of eternal life and the Eternal God underneath it and in which it consists. [00:12:15]

Eternal life is life of age this this is this word eternal is built on the word age now to the king of Ages Immortal or Incorruptible invisible the only God and then you supply a verb you could say be honor I put Let Us ascribe or let me ascribe or I now ascribe honor and glory for ever. [00:01:21]

Paul it was a staggering reality given what he was suffering and how short life was and how painful life was and what was coming just beyond the grave eternal life sent him into doxological orbit as it ought to us so consider how each of these pieces here relates to eternal life. [00:04:44]

The incorruptibility of God guarantees that He can sustain eternal life. His immortality means that He cannot be ruined or ended, offering us a life that is unending and unblemished. [00:06:22]
