"what's so great about that i mean what's so how is that so important in the battles that we face well when you look at the text in ephesians you can see these gifts of armor that are mentioned that we've gone through piece by piece each week and each of those pieces of armor are mentioned once the text mentions the need for prayer a number of times at the end of that text did you see it pray supplication is simply calling out in prayer pray pray pray what god is teaching us or reminding us today is that the armor is needed it's great but you cannot face the spiritual battles of this life without prayer amen prayer today's sermon is a reminder that prayer is essential it is powerful and it is effective" [00:35:02] (50 seconds)

"His eyes are fixed on you and me. He hears you when we call his name. Isn't that beautiful? The God of the universe knows you, asks you to come. You are his, created by him and for him. God longs for you. He longs to hear your voice just as a father longs for his child. He loves you and is listening to you. You, each of you can talk directly to the general. You can speak to the leader of the whole. You are important. Your spiritual struggles or the battles that you're facing matter to the God of the universe." [00:41:18] (42 seconds)

"Prayer not only dresses us up in the armor, it also calls on the power of God, the very presence of God, the Spirit of God to go with us and before us in the battles that we face. I read a great quote this week. And it was this. Prayer is the single greatest force ever unleashed on the earth. Have you ever thought of it in those terms? Prayer is the single greatest force ever unleashed on the earth. And it is the single most powerful weapon at the saint's disposal. That's you and me and the saints. This world may find a way to close our churches, to take away our Bibles, but no one will ever be able to stop God's people from calling on the name of the Heavenly Father, on the name of Jesus. Prayer is incredibly powerful. It can cause the devil to flee. It binds up the brokenhearted. It can seal the sick. It forgives the sinner. It brings the power of God to bear on the forces of evil that are under attack, that we are under attack under. You see, not only does prayer connect us to God who provides and directs us in the battle, but prayer, we're able to aim, focus our prayers on certain situations or needs and call out. Our prayers can have specific focus calling on the name of Jesus to force the powers of evil to flee." [00:45:54] (95 seconds)

"But there is a way, one thing that truly makes us more and more like Jesus on this earth. You know what it is? Prayer. Prayer. Jesus was constantly praying to the Father. If there's one thing that marked Jesus' humanity, because Jesus was 100 % God and 100 % human, I don't know how that works, I just know that that's the truth. That's what Scripture tells us. You know what marked his 100 % of humanity? He was constantly praying to the Father. He was in need of the Father, of communication, of what the Father would provide, of the Father's guiding, of the Father's filling, of the Father's leading, of the Father's power, the Spirit at work. of the Father's healing, of the Father's healing, of the Father's healing, of the Father's healing, of the Father's healing, You" [00:48:45] (53 seconds)

"He prayed constantly. He found time for the Father. He turned to, listened to, called on, prayed against the forces of evil. He was filled by the Father through prayer. Jesus prayed. And there's this great story in Mark chapter, I think it's chapter 1, verses 35 through 37 in Mark. You can write that down. It says this, And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. And Simon and those who were with him searched for him. And they found him, and they said to Jesus, Everyone's looking for you. See, the disciples were all about action. Like, come on, let's get some more miracles going. This is really fun. And Jesus was all about communion with the Father and whatever the Father wanted that went out from there." [00:49:58] (51 seconds)

"Jesus slides off so many times in Scripture and finds time alone to pray. Pray. You want to be more like Jesus? Pray. Armor up. Be filled, fueled, directed, and strengthened by the Father. Pray. Here's the kicker. When we pray, when the focus of our life is prayer, bringing all things to the Father, calling out to God at all times and in all places, for all reasons, guess what? We are like Jesus, and the result of that will be, that our life will start to look more and more like Jesus. That will actually impact our behavior. Isn't that beautiful? Is everybody excited? Is excited I am about this? I'm feeling pretty excited about it." [00:50:29] (42 seconds)

"Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God. Let us hold fast to our confession, for we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in the time of need. In a spiritual crisis when you are under attack spiritually, that's Hebrews chapter 4, draw near to the throne of grace. How do we do that? Through prayer. Be confident, it says. We can become confident calling on the Lord. Go to Him. And as we draw near through prayer, we will receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." [00:53:39] (43 seconds)

"Prayer is our supply line that allows us to take up and to put on the whole armor of God. It enables us to withstand in the evil day and having done all dressed in the armor of God praying at all times. We stand firm. We stand firm. Let's pray. Father, we're not just throwing words up into the atmosphere hoping some supreme being catches them. We're talking directly to You. Your ear hears our words. Your eyes see. Your heart knows. So we come with confidence before the throne of grace. Father, thank You for Your love. Thank You for Your provision for the armor of God. Thank You for this line of communication to share with You our struggles and our joys for You to provide and fill and guide. And so would You do that, Father?" [00:56:57] (66 seconds)
