### Quotes for Outreach

1. "You see, the call of Christianity is a call to come and die and find life in Jesus. It's a call to experience the benefit of hitting the cross that he bore in our place to bring rescue for us, to do for us what we could not do for ourselves. But it's also a call to take up our own cross. To deny ourselves, to take up our own cross and follow him. We follow and serve a crucified Savior. We follow and serve a resurrected Savior." 2. "We love the sweet promises of God and we put them on our fridge, right? And we write them down. We write them down in our journals and we have them in our journals and we have them on pictures and stuff and they're great. We need to cling to them. But there's also some more sobering promises that if we're going to follow Jesus, it involves hardship. It involves suffering. It involves persecution." 3. "There are great benefits in following and knowing Jesus. And receiving him as your Lord and Savior. Eternal life, forgiveness, redemption, purpose, and the list goes on of graces that we can emphasize. But there is also great cost in following Jesus. There's cost in being a disciple of Jesus. And we must be convinced. That he is worth it. We must be convinced that when we see our Lord Jesus on that day. And we hear him say, well done, good and faithful servant. That all our sacrifice and labor was worth it. And is worth it now." [14:14] (43 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

4. "The gospel delivers people from the fear of death. From those who are in bondage to the fear of death all their lives. The gospel delivers us from the fear of man. From seeking people's approval. The gospel delivers us from fear of evil. And evil power because Christ has conquered them. The gospel frees us from fear of failure. Because our righteousness isn't based on what we do. It comes as a gift through faith in Jesus. And he's our righteousness. The gospel sets us free. And the world needs this good news. And you and I need it. And we need to preach it to ourselves. And preach it to one another. And hold fast to it." [54:22] (52 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

### Quotes for Members

1. "Paul exhorted Timothy to fan the flame. Look at this. Verse 6. Connects the previous verses. He says. For this reason. I remind you. To fan the flame. The gift of God. Which is in you. Through the laying on of my hands. Now Paul. Now let me go back here. Paul said. I remember your tears. Right? So there was a time. Where Paul saw Timothy crying. By the way. I appreciate men that are unashamed to cry. Right? And let their tears be seen. It can make a significant impression. And help others pray for you. As they think about you. And your tears." 2. "Paul exhorted Timothy also not to be ashamed. Don't be ashamed. He says, Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me, his prisoner. As I read these words, I'm reminded of Jesus' words. Where he said, If anyone's ashamed of me, I'll be ashamed of him. If anyone's ashamed of me, I'll be ashamed of him. If anyone's ashamed of me and the gospel, I'll be ashamed of him. Don't be ashamed of Jesus. Don't be ashamed of the gospel. Paul also said in Romans 1.16, he says, For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it's the power of God." [33:24] (42 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3. "Paul's example. And Paul's expression of love and support. I imagine gave Timothy courage. Reason for courage. Reason for faithfulness. When you got somebody in your corner. That's strong. That's solid. That you know loves you. That you know is for you. It gives you confidence and courage. To face life. A lot of these Olympians. That some of us have been watching. They got coaches in their corner. Who have poured. Their lives out. Seeking to help those athletes. Become all that they can be. And they're there. When they fail. And they're there. When they succeed. And what a comfort it is. What a joy it is. When there's victory. And what a comfort it is. When they're there. And the failure." 4. "Paul's concern was that in his passing the torch to the next generation that the gospel would be lost. He didn't want that. And so he was doing his part doing his part to pass that torch to the next generation. And for Timothy and others to carry the good news to keep proclaiming the gospel and holding fast to the good news of Jesus Christ who is the savior of the world who died for our sins who rose from the dead and I love that he highlights here verse 14 by the Holy Spirit who dwells within us the Holy Spirit gives us power. He's the one who mediates the grace of God. The power of God into our lives. He gives us love right the fruit of the Spirit. He gives us the power to be witnesses the power to live Godly lives to make war on sin. He convicts of sin." [46:02] (65 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

5. "Paul says, do not be afraid or do not fear is the most repeated command in scripture. It's been somebody's calculated it that there's about 366 times. If that's true. That's one for each day for us 365 days. To be reminded do not fear. Do not be afraid. And that's our temptation. Right? We struggle with moral courage. We struggle with physical courage. We can often feel fearful about the things that are happening in the world. And the temptation is to trim down the gospel. We can just be comfortable Christians. And not be bold with the gospel. And experience. People can just leave us alone. Right? You stay over there. I won't be too outspoken about the good news. Just leave me alone. But the more we preach it. The more we stand up and communicate the good news. The more opposition we're going to face." [49:37] (72 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
