“But it is in this chaos that Jesus seeks and finds the women. Jesus himself closes the distance between the kingdoms of heaven and earth to assure them that they need not be afraid. That he is indeed risen and that they will see him again as promised. I think what Matthew is trying to tell us here is that we need not bother looking for the resurrected Christ or to to spend our time seeking out Christ. Because no matter how chaotic things are in this world, no matter how much suffering we experience, if we are faithful in our witness to the good news, Jesus will find us.”
