I tremble at the thought that our church might have it ever said of us this this is Judges chapter 2: 10 and all that generation also were gathered to their fathers and there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or work that he had done in Israel. [00:11:21]

The alarming trend of young people leaving the church after 18 years highlights the need for a deeper engagement with the gospel. Programs alone cannot sustain faith; only the grace of God can hold onto our kids. So I'm not laying anything on you you you know I can't from where I stand. [00:13:36]

The cultural phenomenon of low expectations for youth must be challenged. Young people are capable of setting an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, as Paul instructed Timothy. Almost all of us in church have too low expectations for our young people and they're trying to turn that around. [00:18:31]

Let no one despise you or for your youth or despise your youth you but set the Believers an example in speech and conduct in love and faith and Purity. Observation number one youth is often looked down on because of attitudes and behaviors that are annoying or immature. [00:16:23]

Paul is telling Timothy not to be indifferent to the attitude of adults toward him. Don't let them despise you in your youth. He's putting this on Timothy. Strange huh? Don't let them do that seems to imply there's something Timothy could do about it. [00:17:55]

The way he tells Timothy to overcome the being despised that's coming at him is not to adjust to their attitudes. He does not say this let no one despise you for your youth but find out what they want and act that way. That's not what he says. [00:19:04]

Instead of looking to the adults and what they want from you, you look to the word of God and act and speak in the features like love like Faith Like Purity you weave all of that into your words and you weave all of that into your actions. [00:19:50]

The Bible presents a vision of youth as wise and influential, capable of impacting adults. Young people should not be underestimated, as they can be wise beyond their years, like the poor and wise youth in Ecclesiastes. Better was a poor and wise youth than an old and foolish King. [00:44:15]

A gospel-centered approach to youth ministry is essential. Our children need to know the gospel deeply, experience forgiveness, and be prepared for life's trials. They should be encouraged to rebel against low expectations and be equipped to do hard things for Christ. [00:54:31]

Young people don't let the culture set low expectations for you and what you can accomplish for Christ. Don't let the culture around you the people people around you define the level to which you might advance in influencing others for Christ. [00:47:51]

May God forbid that children growing up in our homes or in our church would say to Jesus after they asked how to inherit eternal life and he lists the Ten Commandments and our children say these I have kept from my youth may my children not respond to Jesus like that. [00:49:36]

I hope the whole series is just gospel saturated we're all so desperately needy we're just kids anyway right we're just little kids we're scared that we might not we're going to get spanked forever in hell and um we never outgrow our need for Mercy. [00:52:48]
