Sermon Clips

1. "Are you trying to live the Christian life alone? You know, it would be as sane or as good as... Imagine a football team. That they have, by all counts, the best players in the league. They have the best quarterback. They have the best wide receivers. Their linemen are big and strong and agile. Their running back is elusive and powerful. And everyone expects them to win. But in coming together as a team, something happens." [44:39] (40 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2. "God has designed us and given us the gift of the church and of groups and of people in our lives to help encourage us to look more like Jesus. As a matter of fact, if we want to get to the heart of the matter, God has given us the church and groups and other Christians to help encourage us to look more like Jesus. To get ourselves out of our lives and out of the way, so that we live for others' good and for others' growing in Christ." [46:10] (30 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3. "Christianity, friends, is personal. It is personal, but it's not individualistic. Jesus is saving a people for Himself, but He's not saving people to be lone rangers. The communal nature of the church is listed throughout the New Testament from its very conception. Here in Acts chapter 2, to every epistle and letter that is written in the New Testament and reference to the church, that we are made for each other." 4. "Groups mature us through the commitment to the scriptures together. Groups mature us through the commitment to scriptures together. If you notice, what happened, they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to the fellowship. Groups are a community of God organized around the scriptures to be accountable to God. To be accountable to one another. To be foundationally in God's word. And as a team, to grow each other, to be dependent on God's word." 5. "Friends, God knew that we needed each other. And he shows that he wants us to help the other person grow in God's word. That Christ built the church so that you would have others that you could pour into and point others to God's word. Yes, you have people that in your life probably that make you feel good, that you can talk sports with, that you can talk parenting about or family or talk about your hobby. But there's nothing more that we need in our life that we have someone that's speaking, preaching, teaching and encouraging people to speak God's word in our lives." 6. "Friends, we need community and encouragement and fellowship. God's word shows us that it is vital to our lives. They weren't saying, oh boy, you know, I'm so overwhelmed I can't do anything at church or go to church or meet my Christian friend this week. What were they doing? The opposite. Every day they were meeting with one another. Their lives were intertwined in the spirit. Their lives were intertwined with each other. Friends, your lives would be better working with others for the cause of Christ and serving others." [01:00:00] (40 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

7. "We can't forget that our meetings is an eternal, spiritual, powerful meeting. Even when you're meeting at McDonald's, not gonna talk about saving your life for the food. I'm talking about when you're meeting together over God's word and the Holy Spirit meeting with you in a spiritually powerful event. Galatians chapter six, one through two reminds us, brothers and sisters, if someone is overtaken in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual, restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourself so that you won't be overwhelmed. You won't be tempted. Carry one another's burdens in this way that you will fulfill the law of Christ." [01:08:38] (43 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

8. "Friends, healthy groups, healthy Christians have a burden for those not with Jesus and who are lost. The early church enthusiastically communicated the gospel through their networks and through the people they were around. They were committed to the gospel multiplication. And friends, we need to be committed to gospel multiplication in our lives and in our groups. Life groups and dGroups are not just for personal growth. Remember, they're for others. And part of the other part of groups is for sharing the gospel for salvation." [01:16:05] (42 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

9. "Do you have a multiplication mindset for your life? Do you have a multiplication mindset for who you are sharing the gospel with? Do you have a multiplication mindset as a group? Are you so scared to reach out or multiply because you're afraid you're going to lose a friend? Friends, we have a commission from Christ to go. And some of you have been part of what Christ is doing. Now God is calling you to multiply yourself for the kingdom. You need a disciple or mentor someone else so that they can go." 10. "Today I pray that if you aren't part of a life group or d-group that you see the importance is not necessarily just for yourself. It's for the sake for you to pour into somebody else's life first. And that you get the benefit of growing along with Today at the end of our service we have tables. That you can meet a life group leader or someone there that you can sign up. You can actually go into the app right now in the messaging section and sign up for a life group. You can also scroll down and sign up for a d-group if you're one in there." [01:19:58] (34 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
