The cross of Jesus stands as the pivotal moment in all of history, where every prophetic pointer and promise of the Old Testament finds its fulfillment, and from which all future hope and life flow. In this moment, Jesus becomes both the sacrificial lamb and the one who takes away the sin of the world, making possible a new reality for all who believe. The cross is not just a symbol of suffering, but the very place where the old is completed and the new begins, inviting us to step into the fullness of what God has prepared for us. [19:36]
1 Corinthians 15:17-20 (ESV)
And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
Reflection: What does it mean for you personally that the cross is the turning point of all history? How might you live differently today in light of Jesus’ finished work?
The coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost is the ultimate validation of Jesus’ death and resurrection, making the reality of the cross and the empty tomb tangible and active in the lives of believers. Without the Spirit, the work of Jesus would remain distant, but with the Spirit, God’s presence, power, and purpose are made real within us, enabling us to live as new creations and to walk in the fullness of our calling. The Holy Spirit is not just a doctrine but the living presence of God, empowering us to be witnesses and to experience true transformation. [25:21]
Acts 2:1-4 (ESV)
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Reflection: Have you invited the Holy Spirit to fill you and validate your faith? What step can you take today to open your heart more fully to His presence?
Through the Holy Spirit, God moves the law from cold stone tablets to the living, beating hearts of His people, transforming obedience from a burdensome obligation into a joyful response of love. No longer do we strive to keep rules in our own strength; instead, the Spirit writes God’s ways within us, awakening a genuine desire to honor Him and to give Him what is rightfully His. This internal transformation is the foundation for authentic Christian living, where love leads to obedience and obedience flows from love. [26:21]
Jeremiah 31:33 (ESV)
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Reflection: In what area of your life do you still feel like obedience is a duty rather than a delight? How can you invite the Holy Spirit to write God’s law on your heart in that area today?
The Holy Spirit comes not only to change us inwardly but to empower us outwardly, enabling us to take ownership, responsibility, and rulership in our lives and in the world around us. As Helper, Advocate, and Comforter, the Spirit equips us to overcome our struggles, to serve others in love, and to bear fruit that reflects the character of Jesus. This empowerment is not passive; it is an active, ongoing partnership with God, where we are mobilized to make a difference and to live out our calling with courage and compassion. [33:57]
John 14:15-16 (ESV)
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.”
Reflection: Where do you need the Holy Spirit’s help, advocacy, or comfort most right now? What is one practical way you can rely on Him in that area today?
Pentecost is not merely a historical event or a spiritual experience; it is a commissioning into a life of movement, ownership, and increasing fruitfulness. When the Spirit fills us, we are not meant to remain the same, but to step into new levels of responsibility and impact, becoming agents of God’s love and power in our communities. This is a call to action—to join in what God is doing, to embrace our role in His story, and to allow the fruit of the Spirit to multiply through us for the sake of others. [37:06]
Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Reflection: What is one area where you sense God calling you to greater ownership or fruitfulness? How can you step out in faith and action today, trusting the Spirit to work through you?
Today, we gather to remember and celebrate the profound significance of Pentecost—a moment in history that is not just a commemoration, but an invitation into the fullness of God’s promises. From the earliest days, God has been sending us “notifications” through Scripture, pointing us toward the ultimate fulfillment in Christ. The Old Testament festivals, the sacrificial lamb, the giving of the law, and the first fruits all serve as prophetic pictures, each one building anticipation for the day when God would pour out His Spirit on all flesh.
Pentecost is more than the arrival of the Holy Spirit; it is the validation of everything that came before—the cross, the resurrection, and the promises of God. Just as the Israelites received the law on stone tablets fifty days after Passover, so now, through the Spirit, God writes His law on our hearts. This is not a call to return to the shadows of the old covenant, but to embrace the reality of being the called-out people of God, empowered to rule and reign with Christ.
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is the moment when the believer is enabled to live out the reality of the cross and resurrection. Without the Spirit, the work of Jesus remains distant and theoretical; with the Spirit, it becomes tangible and transformative. The Spirit is our Helper, Advocate, and Comforter—He empowers us to live morally, to love others, and to bear fruit that reflects the character of Christ. Rulership and fruitfulness begin when we are filled with the Spirit; it is He who enables us to move from mere obligation to authentic love and obedience.
This is a commissioning moment. Pentecost is not about a fleeting spiritual experience, but about being mobilized for God’s purposes. It is about taking ownership and responsibility, stepping into the fruitfulness and authority that Jesus has made possible. The invitation is to move beyond passivity, to allow the Spirit to transform us, and to become agents of God’s kingdom—ruling, reigning, and loving as He intended. Today, the call is to receive afresh, to be filled, and to step into the fullness of what God has prepared.
Not one of the promises that he's spoken over the years and i've had the privilege to to voice some of those promises not one of those promises will return to him void uh but it will accomplish that which it's sent for and only thing god needs is a partner he doesn't need a qualified partner he doesn't need a you know he needs a partner that's all he needs for for his prophecies and his promises to to be fulfilled. [00:03:33]
We see the old testament god comes and he gives a notification ping into your phone boops and he says i'm going to introduce to you something that i'm going to do much later but it's coming through to you in the shape and the form of a little lamb that you're going to sacrifice in egypt and that little lamb and the blood of that little lamb is going to set you free from slavery bing bing notification that's going to happen but it's actually a prophetic picture of what is going to happen much later. [00:08:30]
That's why now for us as believers or or those in the church it'll be foolish to run back and become the shadow of what we are which is a jew it makes no sense for you and me to leave the glory of the church and now become a glorious jew and i mean that with respect please understand that this was just a notification of the reality that was coming. [00:09:39]
He comes and he gives us means on how to rule he gives us three different laws just over 600 in total but there's three different kinds of laws the first law is a moral law that's the ten commandments and those laws are given to you and to me on how to rule myself so if you want to rule yourself just adapt and adopt and adjust and transform and be made into the moral law which really is summed up in two laws but we'll get to that the basis of that law is love love for god and allowing that love to bring change to your life. [00:11:09]
Because you don't know if hail is coming tonight you don't know if rain is coming tonight you don't know frost is coming tonight and what happens is in that giving of the first fruit what you're saying is lord i'm taking the responsibility of caring for myself or providing for myself i'm giving that responsibility back unto you i'm establishing you as lord that's why such a beautiful thing when you and i understand that we can take the first fruit of our labor our tenth our tithe and we give it back unto him and we're saying lord with this moment i'm setting myself free from the responsibility now i'm not going to be irresponsible i'm just saying as lord you're going to be my source my work my toil is not going to be my source i'm giving it back unto you and i'm changing responsibility. [00:15:10]
I want to say this in love if you're not tithing please change it because you can't afford not to tithe don't tell me you can't afford to tithe i'm telling you you can't afford not to tithe because what's happening is you keep responsibility you need to give it back unto him that he can take that responsibility because that's what he wants to do that's what i do when i establish him as lord i'm saying i can't but you can anyway. [00:15:56]
Everything in history hinges around the Azazel sacrificial lamb moment where Jesus becomes the one who makes all things possible. But you know what scripture says, Paul, he says, listen, if Jesus was not raised from the dead, we are to be pitied. We are fools. So there had to be something that happened after the cross to validate the cross. And Jesus had to be raised from the dead to actually confirm he was the spotless one. [00:19:48]
The resurrection validated the cross. The resurrection said, because I'm here, resurrection, the cross is real. Because many people died on a cross in that time, right? But there was only one who was spotless. There was only one that was going to be the fulfillment of the notification, the pointer, Jesus. [00:21:36]
But then, in all honesty, if Jesus died on the cross and he was resurrected, we would still be lost. Because what now? And he comes and he gives this incredible, incredible promise. He says, listen, guys, wait, wait, wait. Don't go anywhere. I know I told you to go into all the world and change it and turn it upside down. I know I told you to take the kingdom and take by force what is rightfully ours now in me. I know I told you all of that, but I want you to wait, because there's someone coming. His name is the helper, the advocate, the comforter. [00:21:58]
But what I want us to understand is that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is the absolute most incredible pinnacle of Scripture because it validates everything else. Without the outpouring of the Spirit, there's no validation. So now I'm bringing this to a question to you, sir, ma 'am. Have you been filled with the Holy Spirit to validate what you believe? Have you been filled to such a degree that your life now is enabled, empowered, so that the validation of the cross, the validation of resurrection is actually tangibly visible in your life? [00:25:03]
And he comes and says, listen, I'm going to take you on Pentecost. I'm going to take out the heart of stone. Guess what the law was written on? Stone. I'm going to replace it with a heart of flesh, which means that no longer is the law written on tablets, but now the law is written on your heart. That's what Scripture says. [00:26:00]
Rulership begins when I'm filled with the Holy Spirit. I want to tell you, without you being filled with the Holy Spirit, rulership will be very difficult for you to do. Morality, you're going to fail. Socially, you're going to fail. And possibly judicially, you're going to fail. But when the Holy Spirit comes upon me and he stays in me, and we spoke about that yesterday, the Holy Spirit is in me for me. So he comes and he brings some changes. And he comes and he brings some character stuff, the fruits of the Spirit. But then he also comes and he changes me through sanctification so that I can be a blessing and a solution in my reality. [00:27:05]
Now that's exactly what happened on Pentecost. Yes, they've been changed, but now the Spirit comes and he says, listen, I'm now going to take the law and mobilize the law through you, and now you're going to love others like you love yourself. Because that's the law. That's the fulfillment of the law. That's the summary of the law. If you want to know the law, just there it is. You've got the law. Do unto others as you want to get done unto you. That's what Scripture calls the golden law. [00:27:41]
Scripture says that you have to know a man by his fruit. And it's not a gender -specific statement. Which means that when you and I are filled with the Holy Spirit, then suddenly there's fruitfulness that starts. It's the beginning of fruitfulness for your life. How many of you would love to be fruitful? [00:28:26]
So what I want us to just come to is that the fulfillment of all of what has been pointed towards in history comes into fulfillment at Pentecost. So you and I today are not just remembering the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. You and me are actually coming to a place where you say, I want to be the notification. I want to be the one who is filled with the Holy Spirit so that I can start ruling and reigning. I want to remember that. Take the law, write it on my heart. And I want to now start living in a space where I'm beginning to be fruitful and increasingly so. And it happens at Pentecost. [00:29:15]
If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father and He will give you another helper to be with you forever. Now I want us to see there's a progression here. It starts on the foundation of love, not on the foundation of obedience. Sometimes what we want to do is we want to obey and then we want to make sure that that translates into love. It doesn't. So what I do is I serve my wife not to earn love. I love her, therefore I serve my wife. [00:30:35]
So he's saying, I want you to understand that the foundation is when you love me, there's a natural outflow of that love, is obedience. And then it goes and it says, on the back of that, in your mobilization. So please understand that when it comes to love, when it comes to faith, when it comes to obedience, none of that is passive. All of that is active. When you love me, you'll obey me, which means there's movement. And then it says, in the movement, I'm going to come and help you. I'm going to come and fill you. And then I'm going to give you a helper, an advocate, and a comforter. [00:31:10]
You see, what happened is her words to me was, now you're a new creation. Because you know what? I had an advocate speaking on my behalf. I had an advocate that was there saying to my wife, but he's a new creation. His sin has been paid for. He's being reconciled. Not only to the Father and to you, because we were being reconciled, but also to the purposes and the character that I have for you. [00:33:57]
See, the comforter came and said, it's going to be all right. I'm here with you. See, the thing is, friends, that when we allow the Holy Spirit to come and fill us and live inside of us, we have a helper, advocate, comforter that's going to take us to become the very one who is now fruitful and the very one who's taking ownership and rulership of not only my own life, but the situations around me. [00:35:42]
Pentecost is not an all -full -down moment. Praise Jesus, I'm in the Holy Spirit's path. That's not Pentecost. Biblical Pentecost is. Ownership, responsibility, rulership is now given to you. And fruitfulness will be unlocked through you and in you from this moment on. Which is very different to what we feel. It's very much what we clothe ourselves with when it comes to responsibility and outworking. [00:36:36]
And I honestly believe, friends, there's a new move of God, which is probably not new. But it's maybe for us new. But God is saying, actually, it's not about you. It's about me. And for us, as His sons and daughters, we are now joining what He wants to do. Rather than bringing Him into, oh, just Lord bless me. This is a radical, biblical, commissioning moment. [00:37:14]
Because I want us to understand that when Pentecost happened and the Spirit was poured out in Acts chapter 2, every single one of those who were there, 120, give or take, every single one of them were mobilized. Not one of them laid on the floor and didn't leave changed. And I'm not making less of it. Because I've been on the floor, but I've left changed every single time. Because times the Spirit would come upon me and He would do surgery on me and in me. But it's for the purpose for me to become someone that I haven't been before. It's a commissioning moment. Pentecost is all about movement, mobility, and execution. And I'm not talking about execution. I'm talking about executing the love of God. Becoming a weapon in His hand. Is that right? [00:37:44]
When we're super spiritual, it's all about me and how much I've done and not done. But when I'm supernatural, it's about I'm dependent on Jesus. I'm natural, but I need someone greater than me to help me. So this is a moment where you are going to make business with Jesus and say, well, Lord, help me. I've now learned. Faith comes from hearing and hearing comes from the Word. Now I've heard the Word. Now I have faith to receive and I want to have a life that's different. [00:38:36]
