Acts 2, the second chapter of Acts, is not just a history of the past. It's not just a relic of the past. Acts 2, and especially, we're focusing right now on Acts 2-17... That's a declaration over the church for today. That's a declaration over our present time. It's not just something that happened 2,000 years ago.
In the last days, God says, I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.
[00:04:44]
We're living in the last days. These last days are days of deep concern. Concern for our children and their future. For our teenagers. Concern for our future. For our jobs. For our economy. For our country. Concern for our culture.
[00:05:18]
Everywhere we look, it feels like the ground is shifting. Moral confusion. It's celebrated. Gender confusion. Celebrated. Truth. Truth. It's challenged. Faith. Just pushed to the margins. Not important anymore.
[00:05:47]
The honest truth is that we don't just need more advice. We don't need better programs. Better programs are good, but we don't just need better programs. And we certainly don't need louder opinions. We need something from God. We need a movement that is not driven by people, but is driven by God. In fact, initiated by God.
[00:06:38]
We need clarity in the confusion. We need power in our weakness. And boy, do we need fire in the places that have grown cold. Whether our hearts or our culture or even our churches. But there's good news. And the good news is that God has already made provisions for all these things to happen.
[00:07:04]
This is a promise, but it's more than a promise. It's a pattern that God has for us today.
[00:08:26]
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is a last days movement. It's for today. I think we all agree, these are the last days, right? This isn't just something that God did one time. But this is something that God is doing even today.
[00:09:03]
The last days started on the day of Pentecost. How do I know that we're in the last days? Because the last days started on the day of Pentecost.
[00:09:58]
The Holy Spirit's outpouring isn't just a historical moment. It's a prophetic moment that reaches way back from the Old Testament to that day of Pentecost in Acts 2 to today.
[00:12:33]
The Holy Spirit is not outdated. The Holy Spirit is not confined to a certain generation or era. He's not irrelevant. We're in the age of artificial intelligence, right? Does that make the Holy Spirit irrelevant? No. In the era of AI and social media and global crises, He's still precisely what we need right now.
[00:13:12]
The Holy Spirit brings the clarity that we need, the conviction, the courage. Sometimes we think of the work of the Holy Spirit as an abstract thing. It's not. It's practical. He equips us to parent. He equips us as students. He equips us to lead. He equips us to do our jobs and to witness in a world that doesn't always make sense.
[00:13:43]
God's answer is not to go back. But God's answer is to pour out His Spirit afresh anew for these last days. So when we talk about being people of the Spirit, we're not just talking about religious passion or emotional expression. We're talking about being empowered to live faithfully today in these last days.
[00:14:43]
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is a divine movement. It doesn't come from emotional hype. Sometimes we see, we think, you know, about the Holy Spirit. Oh, it's just emotion. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is a divine movement. It comes from God. It doesn't come from emotional hype. It doesn't come from human effort. It comes from God Himself.
[00:15:15]
To reject the Holy Spirit's work simply because people have responded to it incorrectly is to reject the very means that God has chosen to empower His church for the last days.
[00:18:17]
The Holy Spirit was poured out in Acts 2, not because the disciples were emotional, but because they were obedient. When they waited, Jesus told them, you will receive power. He told them before that to go into Jerusalem and to wait for the promise of the Father. And they were obedient.
[00:18:38]
When the Spirit moves, He doesn't just stir emotions. He transforms lives. And that's what our focus has to be.
[00:19:55]
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is, first of all, a youth movement. Aren't you glad for our youth of today that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is a youth movement? God is intentionally reaching for the next generation.
[00:20:18]
But the truth is only God can reach the heart. Only God can take a confused and a hardened teenager and transform him into or her into a young woman or woman, a young man or young woman who prophesies, who sees visions from God.
[00:21:56]
The youth movement described in Acts 2 is not a fringe experience. It's a direct result of God pouring out His Spirit. It's His design for the last days. Because how many of us have said this? Oh, the enemy is after the youth of our day. I think he is, but guess what? So is God. God is after the youth of our day. God is after this generation.
[00:23:51]
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is an enduring movement. It's not just a last days movement. It's a lasting movement. It endures. Because God has a plan for those who have walked with Him for years, and in fact, for decades. The Holy Spirit doesn't expire with age. Aren't you glad of that? He continues His work in every willing heart.
[00:24:46]
When you walk in the Spirit, your physical strength may wane, but your fire doesn't have to. Your fire doesn't have to. Nothing else. Nothing else is as enduring as the last day's move of the Holy Spirit.
[00:29:26]
Whether you're young with vision or older with dreams, take heart in this. God is not finished with you. The same spirit who started this work will sustain it. He'll speak to every generation. He'll stir every heart. And he'll empower everybody who is willing to surrender their lives to the Lord. Because this is not man's movement. This is God's movement.
[00:30:24]
So, the Holy Spirit is being poured out. It's not being trickled out. It's not being rationed out. It's being poured out. The only question is, will you stand under the flow of this outpouring?
[00:34:04]
Let's stop treating Pentecost like a date on the calendar. It's that, but it's much more than that. Let's respond to it as a divine invitation. This is our moment. This is our moment. Let's not miss it.
[00:34:18]
