"Revival is described as a sudden awareness of God's nearness, which awakens an awareness of our sin. And throughout church history, revival always started with confession and repentance. So it leads to a deeper experience of God's grace, but repentance, it sounds like a harsh word in the mouth of a lot of preachers these days, but I need us to understand it's an essential aspect of the gospel." [00:36:32]

"Repentance isn't something we do before we can come back to God. Repentance describes what coming to God really is. You can't turn towards God without turning from things that he's against. And so we need to understand and experience the gospel of the kingdom. We need an invasion from heaven that brings a conscious awareness of God." [00:36:52]

"And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams. Even on the male servants and the female servants in those days, I will pour out my spirit and they shall prophesy." [00:47:15]

"God always keeps his promises. And Jesus said back in verses four and five of chapter one, I want you to go and wait for the promise of the Holy Spirit. And this promise can be traced all the way back to the Old Testament prophets and has now been fulfilled in their midst. So he's saying, this is the Holy Spirit." [00:48:16]

"He's saying it doesn't matter where you're coming from or if you're rich or you're poor or you're slave or you're free, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is for all who will call upon the name of the Lord. This message is for everyone. So under the Old Covenant, certain people at certain times were filled with the Spirit and they had specific purposes, but now this invitation is to be led, to be taught, to be comforted, to be convicted, to be changed by the power of the Holy Spirit." [00:49:23]

"Death only exists because of sin. So when sin is done away with, death has lost its hold on us. When Jesus rose from the dead, he broke the power of sin for all time. And since we who belong to him are attached to Jesus by faith, we hold the receipt that shows our sins have been paid in full." [00:51:28]

"So they had murdered God's Holy Son. So what would God do to those who had murdered His Holy Son? Can you imagine what they must have felt when they heard that God didn't want to punish them to wipe them out? Instead, God was moving towards them in perfect love, in mercy. And He's saying, I want to offer forgiveness." [01:01:09]

"Repentance is a change of heart and change of mind that leads to a change of direction. So repentance is a change of heart and a change of mind that leads to a change of direction. And as harsh as we often hear the word repent, repentance is actually a word of great hope. It says you don't have to keep going the way that you've been going." [01:02:06]

"Now on this day of Pentecost, the fire of God's presence comes down to the disciples as God is now writing his law on their hearts. God has ushered in his new covenant of grace. And what happened? In 3,000 people come to life that day. God is received, restoring and redeeming what was lost. He is bringing in a new covenant of mercy and grace where all who call upon the name of the Lord may be saved." [01:05:06]

"Revival starts with repentance and awareness of our sin and awareness of his holiness and a turning from it and rejoicing to experience rejuvenation, to experience a new life. It's a renewal. And I need us to understand, this isn't just a gospel for those who don't believe, who need to come and accept Christ for the first time. This is a gospel that we need every single day." [01:07:08]

"If God opens the eyes of your heart today, so that you can see that his door of mercy is swinging wide open, and that it comes to you, that kind and loving savior is calling you with arms wide open, don't walk away today, run to him in freedom and rejoicing. Thank him for the finished work that he has done for you on the cross." [01:08:14]

"This is the power of the gospel, this is the good
