Empowered by the Holy Spirit to Testify Jesus

Summary

In my sermon, I emphasized the importance of engaging with the Holy Spirit and how it can help us understand and testify the existence of Jesus Christ. I explained that the Holy Spirit is always with us, guiding us, and teaching us. I used examples from my own life to illustrate how the Holy Spirit has guided me in making decisions. I also stressed the importance of letting the Holy Spirit teach us, as it understands our level and knows how to explain things to us in a way we will understand. I encouraged the congregation to engage with the Holy Spirit and let it guide them in their lives.

In the second part of my sermon, I focused on the concept of testifying. I explained that to testify means to provide proof that something exists. In this case, it is to provide proof that Jesus exists. I emphasized that if we fully understand and maximize the ministry of the Holy Spirit, we can confidently testify the existence of Jesus. I encouraged the congregation to be confident in praying for others and to be witnesses of the power of God. I concluded by saying that we must get to a point where we can prove Jesus is alive.

Devotional

Day 1: Engaging the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is not just a passive presence in our lives, but an active guide and teacher. He is always with us, and we can learn from Him in every situation. Engaging with the Holy Spirit means actively seeking His guidance and wisdom in our daily lives, and allowing Him to teach us in His own unique way. [32:59]

John 14:26 - "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."

Reflection: Reflect on a recent situation where you could have sought the guidance of the Holy Spirit. How might the outcome have been different if you had engaged with Him?

Day 2: Learning from the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is our ultimate teacher. He understands our individual learning styles and can explain things to us in a way that we will understand best. Engaging with the Holy Spirit means allowing Him to teach us and make spiritual truths real to us. [36:24]

1 Corinthians 2:13 - "This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words."

Reflection: Think of a spiritual concept you struggle to understand. How can you engage the Holy Spirit to gain a deeper understanding?

Day 3: Testifying of Jesus

The Holy Spirit testifies of Jesus, proving His existence beyond any doubt. When we engage with the Holy Spirit, we too can become confident witnesses of Jesus, able to prove His power and existence to others. [44:23]

John 15:26 - "When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me."

Reflection: How can you engage the Holy Spirit to become a more confident witness of Jesus?

Day 4: Evidence of Jesus

The Holy Spirit provides us with undeniable evidence of Jesus' existence. When we engage with the Holy Spirit, we can confidently prove the power of God to others. This confidence comes from a deep understanding and experience of the Holy Spirit's ministry. [41:43]

Acts 1:8 - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Reflection: Reflect on a time when you were able to provide evidence of Jesus' power to someone else. How did the Holy Spirit guide you in that situation?

Day 5: Maximizing the Ministry of the Holy Spirit

Maximizing the ministry of the Holy Spirit means allowing Him to make Jesus real to us so that we can make Jesus real to others. This involves confidently praying for others and witnessing the power of God. [43:42]

Ephesians 5:18 - "Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit."

Reflection: How can you maximize the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life? What steps can you take to make Jesus more real to others?

Quotes

1. "When you see someone who fully understands and is maximizing the spirit, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, you see that they can show Jesus alive anyway. That's why we must engage. To testify means to prove beyond reasonable doubts that Jesus exists." - 44:03

2. "The Holy Ghost can teach you and he is always with you. You don't have to narrate, he was there. You don't have to tell him that, hey, what's up now. The thing is that the other time when I went to that class, you don't need, he was there. You don't narrate again to somebody who was there, you are just wasting time." - 32:15

3. "Let the Holy Spirit teach you. Submit yourself to men that have been inspired by the Holy Spirit. However, it still must not substitute the place of the Holy Spirit really teaching you too. Let the Holy Spirit teach you, let him make it real to you." - 35:14

4. "To testify actually means to stand as a witness. It also means to convince, to give a proof that something happened or something exists. So when you see somebody who does not have an evidence of Jesus, they are lacking in the ministry of the Holy Ghost." - 41:08

5. "The Holy Spirit is meant to make you know beyond every form of doubt that Jesus exists. That Jesus is alive. So a person who understands and who is enjoying and maximizing the ministry of the Holy Ghost is someone who is so confident of the existence of Jesus." - 41:43
