The night of Christ's resurrection, you can read about this in John 20. You remember that? He appeared behind locked doors, right? You go, ta-da, here I am, right? And he appears behind locked doors, and at that moment, then he said, peace be with you. And then John 20 says, he breathed the Holy Spirit to live inside of them. It's this cool Greek verb, enfuseo. It's, you could, we get our word infused kind of from that. But the idea is like, if you blow into a beach ball, you know, at that moment, the Holy Spirit came to live inside of them. [00:28:21] (34 seconds)

And so just like you and I, the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of us at salvation. But then you're aware and then Jesus made the additional promise that he would then baptize or dunk or drench his followers in the Holy Spirit. And Jesus is clear. He breathed the Holy Spirit in at salvation, but he gave the promise to the people he had already breathed the Holy Spirit into that he wanted to drench or immerse them in the Holy Spirit afterwards. [00:29:15] (28 seconds)

Spirit baptism is a thing for you and me. It's a thing for kids. It's a thing for grumpy adults. It's for every one of us, but you and I have a role to play in it. And a lot of times, because it's kind of a new concept for people, they go, well, you know, if God wants to baptize me in the Spirit, He knows where to get me. I see seating section C, row 9, seat F, and if He wants to get me, He can. [00:47:09] (23 seconds)

And I want to encourage you again at the end, when we go to that season of prayer, like you could check out and, you know, go TikTok or whatever on your phone, but I challenge you to resist that and run into the awkward of like, I don't know what to say and I don't know what to do. And I, you know, run into that, embrace that because that's where God meets us in that vulnerable space, right? [00:37:45] (22 seconds)

It's just, he stirs us with hunger and desire. So when the spirit falls upon you, the typical action is, Hey, I kind of feel excited. And people begin to pray, louder and faster, the sentences they were saying before, but I encourage you kind of pray like the house is on fire until you feel the Holy spirit coming upon you. [01:02:13] (19 seconds)
