Empowered by the Holy Spirit: A Life Transformed

4. "So Jesus says, I'm going to send back the Holy Spirit and he's going to dwell in you. So who is the Holy Spirit? R .C. Sproul defines it as this way in his book on the Holy Spirit says, as Christians, we embrace a historic formula about God's being. We believe in the Trinity. 5. "The reason that there's anything beyond that relationship, everything outside of that relationship was created by them. So the only thing there's anything outside of that relationship is because they love each other. And out of that love, they wanted to spread that love around. 6. "And out of love, they desired, they said, you know, this relationship we have is incredible. Let's build a family. And so I believe everything we see in the known world exists because God's desire was to create an eternal family. So he does that through the Holy Spirit. 7. "So every believer, when you become a believer, the way you become a believer is that the Spirit of God baptizes you into, we, we did baptism's day. That, that's not to get you into the family of God, but a symbol of what has happened spiritually. You're baptized by the Spirit. And this, it's very important. It's not, it's, I said a symbol. 8. "Before you came to Christ, you were following the course of this world. You were following, Paul says, clearly, the prince of darkness. You were dead, but you weren't physically dead. I mean, when Adam and Eve sinned, God had said, when you eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you're going to die. Don't eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Don't do it." 10. "So, how do you stay filled with the Spirit? He says, instead of being drunk with wine, he says, that's a waste. He said, be filled with the Spirit of God. How do you stay? How do you stay filled with the Spirit of God? You have to keep getting filled. That even word, that word, be filled with the Spirit means keep being filled."
