The anointing is not just a spiritual concept but a tangible empowerment from God that clothes believers with the Holy Spirit for a specific purpose. Just as Jesus declared in the synagogue that the Spirit of the Lord was upon Him because He was anointed to preach good news, heal the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty, and bring recovery of sight, so too are we anointed to fulfill God’s mission on earth. The anointing is not for show or mere experience—it is for demonstration, for meeting real needs, and for breaking real chains. When the anointing comes, it brings evidence: lives are changed, needs are met, and the works of darkness are destroyed. You are not called to live in theory but in the demonstration of God’s power. [02:54]
Luke 4:18-19 (ESV):
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Reflection: What is one area in your life or community where you sense God calling you to step out and demonstrate His power and love? How can you act on that today, trusting that you are anointed for a purpose?
The anointing is God’s supernatural power that makes you too big for bondage—no yoke of the enemy can remain on you when the anointing increases in your life. Just as the yoke on an oxen snaps when the animal grows too strong, so the anointing causes every spiritual burden and chain to be destroyed. This is not just about a temporary relief, but a permanent breaking of oppression, heaviness, and spiritual manipulation. The devil cannot keep you bound when you are saturated with the oil of God’s Spirit. The anointing is not a one-time event; it is a continual increase that makes you a heavyweight in the Spirit, able to walk in freedom and help others do the same. [01:00:00]
Isaiah 10:27 (NKJV):
“It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.”
Reflection: Is there a “yoke” or burden you’ve been carrying—spiritual, emotional, or physical—that you need to bring under the anointing today? What step can you take to invite God’s power to break it completely?
The anointing is what establishes you in your calling and strengthens you to endure and thrive. It is not about self-promotion or striving in your own strength, but about letting God’s Spirit set you apart and build a foundation that cannot be shaken. When God anoints, He also establishes and upholds you, just as He did with David. The anointing attracts the right people, opens doors, and brings increase that cannot be manufactured by human effort. When you lean on the anointing rather than your own ability, you will find steady growth, resilience, and favor that lasts. [47:36]
Psalm 89:20-21 (ESV):
“I have found David, my servant; with my holy oil I have anointed him, so that my hand shall be established with him; my arm also shall strengthen him.”
Reflection: In what area of your life or ministry have you been tempted to rely on your own strength or self-promotion? How can you intentionally lean on God’s anointing to establish and strengthen you instead?
God’s desire is that your garments always be white and your head never lack oil. Purity is the foundation for the anointing to flow freely—impurities, whether sin or complacency, displace the oil and block the move of God in your life. Humility is required for growth; admitting you need more of God and less of self opens the way for fresh oil. The anointing is not for the impure or the proud, but for those who are cleansed and hungry for more. As you keep your life pure and your heart humble, you will experience a continual flow of God’s Spirit, fresh oil for every new season and assignment. [01:13:07]
Ecclesiastes 9:8 (ESV):
“Let your garments always be white. Let not oil be lacking on your head.”
Reflection: Are there any impurities—sin, complacency, or pride—that you need to surrender to God today? What practical step can you take to pursue greater purity and humility so the anointing can flow unhindered?
The anointing is not reserved for a select few; it is God’s will that every believer be anointed to work the works of God. Once you have been anointed, you are anointed—regardless of how you feel. The evidence of the anointing is not in your emotions but in the fruit that follows: lives touched, chains broken, and the power of God demonstrated through you. You are called to carry this anointing into your daily life, your school, your workplace, your family, and your ministry. Never again say, “I am not enough” or “I am not anointed.” You are anointed now—walk in it, release it, and expect God to back you up with signs and wonders. [01:46:41]
1 John 2:27 (ESV):
“But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.”
Reflection: Where have you doubted or minimized the anointing God has placed on your life? What is one way you can boldly step out today, trusting that you are anointed to make a difference?
Today, we gathered to encounter the living God and to experience a fresh outpouring of His anointing. God’s desire is not just for us to wait for eternity to see His goodness, but to taste and see His power and favor in the land of the living—right here, right now. The anointing is not a vague, mystical idea; it is the tangible presence and power of the Holy Spirit coming upon us, clothing us, and equipping us for every good work. Just as Jesus was anointed by the Spirit to preach, heal, deliver, and restore, so too are we called to walk in that same anointing, not just in theory but in demonstration.
We looked at the life of Jesus, who, though fully God, chose to lay aside His divine privileges and operate as a man anointed by the Holy Spirit. This means everything He did—preaching, healing, setting captives free—He did as an example for us to follow. The anointing is not just for spiritual leaders or the “super spiritual”; it is for every believer, for every generation, and it is essential for effective ministry and victorious living.
The anointing has a fourfold function: it meets material needs, heals emotional wounds, breaks spiritual bondage, and brings physical healing. There is no area of human experience that the anointing cannot touch and transform. We are not called to be victims of our past, our trauma, or our circumstances. The anointing makes us “too big for bondage”—it breaks every yoke and lifts every burden, empowering us to live in freedom and to set others free.
God does not look at outward appearance or qualifications; He looks at the heart. Like David, who was anointed while still a shepherd boy, God calls and anoints those who are willing, humble, and available. The anointing establishes, strengthens, and attracts—when God’s hand is on you, people will recognize it, and doors will open that no man can shut.
Purity and humility are the keys to increasing in the anointing. We must keep our garments white and our heads never lacking oil. The anointing is not a one-time event but a continual flow, a fresh oil that must be renewed as we pour out in service to others. As we were anointed today, we received not just a touch, but an empowerment to go out and work the works of God—healing the sick, preaching the gospel, and demonstrating the kingdom in every sphere of life. We are anointed, and nothing can stand in our way.

Luke 4:14-21 (ESV) — > And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a report about him went out through all the surrounding country. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
> And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read.
> And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,
> “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
> And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him.
> And he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
The thing you have to understand about God is that he doesn't just want everything to be left off to eternity, to some ethereal understanding. Heaven is real. But the Bible says I would have fainted unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of God in the land of the living. That means there are things to experience, things to taste of, things to have now. [00:01:03]
It's my belief that a new generation should understand the anointing. But not just understand it. Say this with me: Christianity is not in theory. It is in demonstration. The Bible says that the kingdom of God is not a bunch of talk, though talking is involved. Paul says the kingdom of God is a demonstration of power. [00:03:52]
When we talk about the anointing, we're not talking about ethereal things. I'm anointed, amen, well that's all talking, no evidence. Anointing, there's an evidence. There is something on your life. Say on. [00:10:10]
There is a secondary work of the Holy Spirit that the Bible calls the work of the Spirit upon. Say upon. The Spirit—just keep the verse up—the Spirit of the Lord is upon me. Say upon me. He goes on to say, because he has anointed me. Say anointed. What does anointed mean? Let me help you with the most simplistic terminology you could ever hear. Anointing means to take a substance and so envelop somebody in that substance that they are now covered in that substance. [00:10:40]
Anointed means to smear with or to smear upon. It means to take something and cover you in it until you look like, smell like, and act like that substance. Does that make sense to you? So Jesus said, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he—say he—has anointed me. Who was Jesus anointed in? He was anointed in the person of the Holy Spirit. He was dipped in God himself. [00:11:41]
If everything Jesus did he did in his divinity, it's still awesome, but I can't replicate any of that. That makes sense to you. I'm not God. I'm a child of God. But if everything Jesus did he did as the Son of God in his dominion as the Son of God, I can't replicate that. The Bible says by a mystery of the Spirit—say mystery—he set aside his divinity while not losing any of it. He still remained fully God and fully man, but decided instead to submit himself to the Holy Spirit, to be anointed of the Spirit as a man and work the works of God by this Spirit. [00:12:47]
When the anointing shows up, we should know why it's come. Does that make sense? The Spirit of God—let me help and correct some stuff that's messed up doctrinally—when the Spirit of God comes into a room, comes into a service, yes, you will have an encounter with him, yes, there will be an experience, but he always comes for a purpose. [00:14:48]
The anointing is like electricity. It's flowing, but until I turn on a switch with my faith, I can't pull on it. Does that make sense to you? There's lights in this room and electricity surging through at thousands of kilowatts a second, but until Marshall turned on the board and turned on the flash, the lights, we wouldn't experience any of the electricity that was here. [00:16:03]
Why is it that people, when they sit in preaching like my type of preaching, they don't leave thinking less of themselves, thinking lower of themselves? They leave thinking, I can make it. God's gonna help me. He's gonna lift me. Because what is happening is the anointing is taking you from a place of poverty and causing you to stand in a place of abundance where you realize for the first time, I'm not created to be the tail, I was created to be the head. [00:17:53]
I'm not minimizing anything in life you've experienced. I'm maximizing what God can do for you that will override all experience. You hear what I'm telling you? We don't live at the level of what's happened. We live at the level of what he has done. [00:22:58]
If Christianity was very simply behavioral modification, Jesus Christ would have never had to have died. You hear what I'm telling you? Wouldn't have to die if all it was was do better, try harder, be better. Why the blood? Why the blood? Hear what I'm saying. [00:26:06]
Jesus said the anointing does four things: it deals with every material—say material—say emotional and mental—say spiritual and physical problem. Those four areas encompass the entirety of the human experience. There is nothing outside of that that the anointing can't fix. [00:26:57]
The anointing is an empowerment from God for a divine task. The Bible says in Acts chapter 10 and verse 38, we know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth—say he anointed Jesus of Nazareth—with the Holy Spirit and with power, and he went about doing what? Doing what? Doing what? So when the anointing comes, everything that it produces is good. [00:27:28]
When you carry the anointing, there's a way to live. You hear what I'm telling you? God will not contend with men forever. God will allow a man to go so far for so long before suddenly there comes swift correction. You hear what I'm telling you? The anointing by and large is not the mark of God's approval. Let me say that to you. The anointing is what God does for the people. God will move in response to the people's faith. [00:30:20]
God doesn't call you about what you are now. He calls you by everything you're going to be. [00:32:11]
If you feel disqualified, I've come to announce to you, you are the very person God is going to use because you will remember that you are what you are by the grace of God. It's not your giftings or your talents or your ability. It is the anointing that has done the work. [00:35:42]
The anointing will never work until you step into who you are. That's right. Saul said, yeah, here you go, you can kill him, but use my sword, my armor, do it my way, and then you can do it. David said, no, I came up learning how to use a sling and a stone. The anointing will join itself to who you are. [00:38:54]
The anointing is literally the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit upon an individual. That's what it is. All of you today will be anointed. You hear what I'm telling you? All of you today will be anointed. [00:43:21]
The anointing establishes you and strengthens you. There's a lot of people expect—how many of you come to the ministry or how many are in the ministry? Some. There's a push especially young. And what I have the ability to do, I don't speak to you as if I've been in the ministry 30 years. That would be incorrect and that would be improper. Do you hear what I'm saying? I can speak to you as to what I have done and the level I am at and what I have experienced as a young minister in this time period. [00:44:43]
Anything that is aimed at self-establishment will produce temporary results, but like a weed, when things come, when the sun begins to shine, when things really begin to become—when bush comes to shove, I guess I'll say—it'll collapse back down. Because if you're not established, if there's no foundation, the Bible says, what shall the righteous do? If the anointing will establish you, no wind, no wave will ever be able to take you down. [00:49:12]
Write this down: the anointing attracts. It attracts. The anointing is a magnet for people. What did the woman at Samaria say? Come and see a man who told me all I ever know or all I ever did. The Bible says in Luke chapter 6 in verse 19, everybody sought to touch Jesus because power came out of him that healed them all. Say power. Say everybody sought him out. Why? Because he was anointed. Say anointed. [00:50:45]
The anointing is a power from God that makes you too big for bondage. You—and I'm telling you—where the devil can't put any yoke around you, he can't affix anything around your neck. What would happen if their back muscles got real big? What would happen to that burden that was on its shoulder? It would get what? Tossed off you. [00:59:26]
Those who are anointed are closest to God. You know what I'm telling you? And there's an anointing oil from heaven that drips—say it drips—drips. There's an oil that comes from heaven that drips. David said, I have been anointed with what? Fresh oil. Fresh oil. Say fresh oil. [01:07:55]
Let your garments always be white. And let your head lack no oil. This is the will of God. This speaks, number one, to the salvific work of Christ. Whereby he gives us robes of righteousness. Solomon was prophesying to a time to come. You must be saved first. You have to be clean and washed and pure. Get what I'm saying? The anointing is not for people that are impure. The anointing is for people that are pure. You hear what I'm telling you? Purity increases the anointing. [01:12:48]
When the anointing comes on you today, let me tell you what's going to happen to you. You're going to get clear vision as to what God has for your life. Clear vision. Clear. God's going to begin to speak to you. God's going to begin to use you. God's going to begin to send you into places. [01:16:57]
Let me tell you what just happened to you. You just became anointed. It's so simple. You will now work the works of God effortlessly. Do you hear what I'm telling you? Effortlessly. When you speak, there will be a strength. There will be a response from heaven. God will back you. [01:46:46]
We don't live by how we feel. The Bible says we walk by faith and not by sight. My faith tells me I am the anointed of God. God's power is on me. I work the same works Jesus did. Because Jesus said, greater works than these shall ye do. Because I'm going to the Father. And if I go to the Father, I will not leave you. I will send the Comforter to you. His anointing is with us. His power is here. We have winning power. Greater is he who liveth in us than he who is in the world. We overcome everything by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Nothing shall stand in our way. [01:47:49]
The goal of a minister is not for me to be your intermediate between God and you. My job is to get this power on you so you realize you have everything you need to deal with the issues of life all on your own. And you'll come back to church and gather and testify of the goodness of God in the land of the living. [01:50:09]
Never question that ever again in your life. I don't feel anointed. Half the time I don't even feel like speaking. You know what I do? I get up and I begin to speak. I begin to talk about God, talk about his word, and something begins to happen on the inside of me. The Bible calls it a fanning into flame, a stirring up, where all of a sudden the glory and the power of God begins to envelop my flesh, and I can't help but begin. It's like something opens up in the spirit, and I can see, I can hear what people are dealing with. God reveals it. That's what's come upon you. [01:51:17]
You're anointed now. Never back down. Never say I don't have it. Never say it's not enough. Everything you need's on the inside of you and we're taking the land. Every single one of you. All of you worship leaders, you're going to write music for God, you're going to prophesy through instruments, God's going to speak to you. We are taking a generation back. We're going back to psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs by the Spirit of God. [01:53:23]
