“``Mordecai is revealing to Esther her true mission in life, that she has not come to this place in the palace just for her own enjoyment. But she's come into this place to be used by God to actually bring justice, to alleviate suffering for God's people. And Mordecai's warning to her basically is this, Don't allow the shadow of what this empire considers success to blind you from God's true mission for you.”

“And I think it's obvious that the same is true of you and me. Listen, friends. If you know Jesus Christ, and even if you don't, wherever you live, wherever you work, whatever you may have in your bank account, you have not been brought to this place by God for yourself. If Jesus Christ is truly lord of my life, there is nothing, my time, my health, my income, my natural gifts, there is nothing that he gives me permission just to consume for myself.”

“You see, Esther had no idea she would ever become the queen. But when she did, she was faced with two choices or one choice really between two things, and that was either to enjoy this shadow mission of comfort and entitlement or to give herself completely to God and to experience his mission and to see God actually do something in and through her life that she could never pull off in a hundred years.”

#MissionAtWork
“And friends, it doesn't mean we don't work or have to work and provide for our family and have responsibilities. It's not all that at all. What it means is in the midst of the normal things that we need to do, I recognize when I wake up in the morning, I'm on mission. God has a plan. You see, God has saved me, redeemed me that he may continue to work redemption through me to those around me. So what that means when I go to work, I've said this before, but let's say your name is John and you're an engineer. You're not just John, an engineer going to work. You are John, a man of God, a follower of Jesus Christ, cleverly disguised as an engineer, going to work. You see? You're still doing what God's gift you to do, but you're on mission. It's about mission.”
