The girdle of truth is essential for spiritual warfare, representing the Christian faith that must govern our entire lives. It is not enough to believe in Christ for salvation; our whole outlook and actions must be aligned with the truth of the Gospel. [00:02:00]

The whole of our thinking must become Christian; everything must be looked at from this particular angle and from this particular standpoint. In other words, that is, I say, the thing that differentiates the Christian from everybody else. [00:03:04]

The church realized that if she didn't put on the girdle of Truth and realized that this was the only way to fight, that the whole life of the church would be lost, and everything would be Shipwrecked. [00:04:06]

The whole tendency of this century is has been to say that you can preserve good manners without truth, but it's impossible. Evil Communications corrupt good manners. There's no greater fallacy than to think that you can hold on to the morals and the ethics and shed the truth. [00:05:50]

The modern attitude in the church, I mean, is almost the exact opposite of this exhortation. Here is the apostles' first principle: guard your lines about with truth. He says if the church is to function as a body, if you are to function successfully as an individual Christian, the first thing you've got to do is to put this truth about your lives. [00:07:26]

The whole emphasis today is put upon some general Spirit rather than upon particular truth, a general Spirit of attitude and of friendship and of love and of worshiping together. Now, of course, that's an excellent thing. We should love one another; there should be a Unity of the spirit in the bond of Peace. [00:09:19]

The modern attitude is that truth cannot be defined. That is the essence of this modern attitude. You see the whole basis of this appeal. They hear the church divided and separated. Why? Well, because people have been standing on particular doctrines, and that always divides. [00:11:06]

The Apostle Paul says that he defines Doctrine. Did you notice his phrase? Remember, he says that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel. My gospel. Oh, sheer arrogance. He'd be dismissed as a contentious, arrogant fellow. [00:20:57]

The New Testament is perfectly clear about all these things. The truth can be defined; it can be stated in propositions. That's what we've got in these Epistles. You must therefore say that other teaching is wrong; you must condemn it. [00:28:56]

The truth can be known, that there is an authority. It's not reason; it's not feelings; it's not the church, any church. What is it? It is this book, and God willing, we shall proceed now, having established our authority, to try to tell you next Sunday in detail something of what it means to guard about your lives with truth. [00:42:22]

The authority of truth is not found in human reason, feelings, or even the institutional church. Instead, it is found in the Scriptures, which provide a clear and definitive guide for our beliefs and actions. [00:28:56]

The church must return to the foundational truths of the Gospel, rejecting modern teachings that dilute or contradict the core doctrines of the faith. Only by embracing the truth can we experience true peace, joy, and effective Christian living. [00:42:22]
