Embracing Trials: The Power of Prayer and Forgiveness

You can tell the temperature of a church from the people who pray. I don't want us to be a church that's just a social gathering because the power of any—this is the way Jesus puts it, he was quoting, I forgot, Isaiah—he said my house shall be called a what? House of Prayer. [00:58:08]

Because we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, because the forces that we encounter or we contend with on this Earth, they are not normal, they are spiritual agents. So you need to enter the spiritual realm to deal with those forces. [00:58:48]

Joseph's story is a testament to the fact that everyone, regardless of their current circumstances, needs help at some point. This help often comes from God, who is always ready to guide us through our challenges if we remain connected to Him. [01:09:12]

Pain is the tuition you pay for the manifestation of your glory. The Bible says it says that our light afflictions are only for a moment. Do not despise your pain, do not trade your pain for malleable gain because your pain is necessary to prepare you for the place of glory. [01:12:21]

Your tears are relevant in the presence of God. Let me show you two Bible passages. Look at Isaiah 53:3. Jesus Christ was despised and rejected by men. He was a man of what? Of sorrows, acquainted with grief. When you go through your sorrow, I want you to understand that Jesus Christ has been where you are. [01:14:42]

Joseph had a painful history. Joseph had a story that was as grievous and gruesome as it could be. And sometimes when people look at you, like sometimes, particularly on first Sundays of the month when people are dressed in resplendent, and you know they have all the best cologne and perfumes, we do not know that behind some of this resplendent, behind some of this splendor, there is pain and agony and grief. [01:20:17]

Joseph was thrown in the pit. Somebody has said that the pit in which he was thrown, the word pit is actually prophet in training. If you have found yourself in the pit right now, you are only undergoing your tutelage for elevation by God. [01:24:19]

There are always incremental steps, incremental steps, increment. And listen, there is really—we say that all the time—but there's no magical single moment. There's no magical single. Every magical moment is an aggregated magical moment. They are incremental magical moments, ordinary moments that were magical in their potential, preparing you for the magical moment that was extraordinary. [01:31:45]

The spectacular things God will do for us in 2025 are going to be built in the ordinariness of our everyday existence. So Joseph became Prime Minister. And how did he become Prime Minister? Number one, we saw that's the giant leap we see in his life. [01:38:11]

Joseph at that stage, he had already forgiven his brothers. That is why he did not say, "My God punish my brothers. My brothers were the one who sold me." He took away blame from them and said, "I was stolen from the land of Egypt." [01:20:17]

You will never get divine help until you get to a place where you expunge malice, bitterness, and unforgiveness from your heart. Joseph here said, "I was stolen." He says it goes on, he said, "But remember me." [01:24:19]

The word of the Lord was still testing him. Remember I read for you Genesis Chapter 18 verse 4. He said, "Is anything too hard for God?" He said, "At the appointed time." The reason why you may be in suspended animation, the reason why you are in a state of uncertainty, the reason why you are in a state of seeming stagnation is because the appointed time has not come. [01:31:45]
