The Word of God is to be the foundation and focus of every believer’s life, not just something to be heard on Sundays or filtered through the opinions of others. God calls His people to seek the pure, unadulterated truth of Scripture for themselves, to let Him speak directly through His Holy Word, and to make time for it in their daily lives. In a world full of voices and teachers who will say whatever itching ears want to hear, the true disciple is marked by a love for the truth and a willingness to pay the cost to pursue it. The state of your heart is revealed by what you run after—if you love the truth, you will be drawn to it and shaped by it. [02:31]
2 Timothy 4:2-4 (ESV)
"Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths."
Reflection: How can you intentionally set aside time this week to read or listen to the Bible directly, letting God’s Word speak to you without outside filters or distractions?
The heart of the gospel is not just a set of facts or a skeleton outline, but the living reality of who Jesus is—fully God and fully man—and what He has accomplished for us. Jesus’ death on the cross is powerful because of His divine identity; He is the Holy One, God incarnate, who came down to redeem us. To deny His deity or His humanity is to deny the gospel itself. Salvation is not by our works, promises, or religious acts, but by His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. The true gospel transforms us from the inside out, making us new creations, saints, and God’s own special people, zealous for good works. [11:38]
Titus 2:11-14; 3:3-7 (ESV)
"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works... For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
Reflection: In what ways does knowing who Jesus truly is—fully God and fully man—change how you approach Him in prayer and worship today?
There are many who claim to preach the gospel but instead offer a twisted, self-help message or a gospel of works, prosperity, or permissiveness. The apostle Paul warns that even if an angel preaches a different gospel, let him be accursed. The true gospel is about Jesus—who He is, what He has done, and the transformation He brings. Believers are called to be on guard, to discern what they hear, and to separate themselves from teachings and communities that do not hold to the true gospel, no matter how popular or traditional they may be. The seriousness of this cannot be overstated, for only the true gospel saves. [43:22]
Galatians 1:3-9 (ESV)
"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed."
Reflection: Are there any teachings, podcasts, or influences in your life that you need to evaluate or even remove because they do not align with the true gospel of Jesus Christ?
The gospel is not just something to be believed intellectually, but to be obeyed with the whole life. True faith in Jesus results in a life that follows Him, denies self, and walks in obedience by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures warn that judgment will come on those who do not obey the gospel, and that following Jesus means enduring reproach, suffering, and even persecution for His name. Yet, in this, the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon those who are faithful. Obedience is the evidence of genuine faith, and the call is to commit your soul to God, doing good as to a faithful Creator. [47:11]
2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; 1 Peter 4:14-19 (ESV)
"...when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might... If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And 'If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?' Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good."
Reflection: What is one area of your life where you need to move from mere belief to active obedience to Jesus today, even if it costs you comfort or reputation?
The gospel is not about self-improvement or religious affiliation, but about being born again—receiving a new heart, a new spirit, and a new identity as God’s holy people. This transformation is the work of God’s Spirit, making us saints, holy ones, and the redeemed who now belong to Him. The evidence of this new birth is a changed life, new affections, and a desire to walk in the light as He is in the light. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come. This is not something you can achieve by your own effort, but a gift to be received by faith and lived out by the Spirit’s power. [34:29]
2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
Reflection: Can you identify a specific way your desires or actions have changed since coming to Christ, and how can you walk more fully in your new identity as a child of God today?
In these days, it is more important than ever to hold fast to the true gospel and to let the Word of God have a central place in our lives. The call is not just to listen to sermons or teachings, but to immerse ourselves in the pure, unadulterated Word—allowing God to speak directly to our hearts. We live in a time when many are turning away from sound doctrine, seeking teachers who will tell them what they want to hear, rather than what is true. This is not just a problem “out there,” but something that can affect anyone who does not love the truth. What we love will determine what we pursue, and if we love the truth, we will pay the cost to follow it.
The gospel is not just a set of facts or a skeleton outline; it is the living reality of who Jesus is, what He has accomplished, who we become in Him, and how we are called to live as a result. Jesus is not merely a good teacher or a prophet—He is God incarnate, fully God and fully man. His death on the cross is powerful because of who He is, and His obedience as the last Adam secures righteousness for all who trust in Him. The gospel is not about our works, promises, or religious activity, but about what Christ has done on our behalf. We are not saved by our own efforts, but by His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Spirit.
To be a Christian is to be born again, to be made new, to become a child of God. This is not a matter of changing denominations or adopting new habits, but of a supernatural work of God in the heart. The evidence of this new birth is a transformed life—a new love for God, a hatred for sin, and a zeal for good works. The Holy Spirit empowers us to live out this new life, not in our own strength, but by His power. We must be on guard against false gospels and teachers, discerning what is true and holding fast to the full gospel of Christ. Obedience to the gospel is not optional; it is the mark of those who truly belong to Jesus. In a world full of deception, let us be those who love, believe, and obey the true gospel, and who boldly proclaim it, no matter the cost.
You're not preaching prophecies. You're not preaching fables. You're not preaching just even personal revelation. Those are good. Those are necessary in regards to our growth. Prophecies are beneficial for us. The revelation that God brings. A word in season is very important to us. But he says, Preach the Word. So he places the Word of God as a focus, a primary, in regards to our growth and our development. So can I just say this to you? Can I say that for you as a person, as someone who says I'm a follower of Jesus, that the Word of God should have a central position in your own heart.

You don't start in the Spirit and then finish in your own effort you start in the Spirit and you continue in the Spirit the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus gives life to your mortal body so that you can walk in him the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is made me free from the law of sin and death so you don't have to function and sin as a master because not only have you been separated from it and made new but his Spirit comes to live in you and guess what the Holy Spirit doesn't have any problem not sinning oh come on you can be tempted but and always Jesus was and yet without just because the thought comes to your mind doesn't mean it's sin that's temptation you resist that you know when the thought I should give you a piece of my mind and you say I won't do it you've just overcome temptation.

If they speak contrary to the true gospel, there's no light in them. And if it's your family members that think that, I'm sorry, but there's no light in them.If someone comes to you and says, no, that's not the gospel, what Jesus has done, who he is, what he's accomplished, and he did it on our behalf, that he changes us to make us new people, and then he gives us power to walk in the truth. Anyone who denies that is denying the gospel, and according to the word of God, they're accursed. This is no game.

We don't tend to equate faith and obedience like that but that's the term it's someone that you come to trust in and someone that you obey why because Jesus is Lord if you won't obey Jesus then you're not headed to his house Jesus say why do you call me Lord and not do what I say so it's him you follow you do it by his power his spirit in you so that you can follow him you deny yourself you take up your cross and you follow him you need to obey the gospel this isn't the only place that that's used.
