The community grocers initiative provides affordable food and builds relationships, leading to church growth. Eden teams live in these communities, loving and serving their neighbors, embodying the gospel in their daily lives. This approach demonstrates that the gospel is not just a message to be preached but a life to be lived out in service to others. [02:31]

Isaiah 58:10-11 (ESV): "If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday. This perspective shifts our focus from our efforts to God's unmerited favor, leading us to live in the freedom and joy that He offers. By keeping our eyes on Jesus, we are reminded that our identity and value are rooted in His love and sacrifice, not in our achievements or failures. Good morning, everyone. It's wonderful to be back and see both familiar and new faces. Today, I want to share about the transformative power of the gospel and the work we're doing through Message Canada, a part of the global Message Trust movement. Our mission focuses on community transformation, creative mission, and equipping and training leaders for urban ministry. We believe that the gospel is the key to transforming lives and communities, and we are actively working in some of the toughest areas, including prisons and deprived neighborhoods.

In Canada, our efforts include community grocers that provide affordable food and build relationships, leading to church growth. We also have Eden teams living in these communities, loving and serving their neighbors. Our creative mission involves engaging young people through innovative means like music and arts, and we are currently seeking a director to expand this ministry. Additionally, we equip and train church leaders through resources like the Advance groups, which have seen significant success in evangelism and discipleship globally.

The core of my message today is about the gospel and its impact on our lives. Reflecting on 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, Paul emphasizes that our focus should be on what Jesus has done for us, leading us to a resurrection life far better than anything we could achieve on our own. I want us to consider how much of this abundant life we are experiencing. I shared the story of the prodigal son from Luke 15 to illustrate God's unconditional love and grace. Both the younger and older sons in the story had issues, but the father's love was constant. The younger son, despite his rebellion, was welcomed back with open arms, while the older son, though obedient, missed the joy of being in his father's presence. This story resonates with my own journey and serves as a reminder that our worth is not based on our actions but on God's grace.

We often strive for virtue and self-improvement, but the gospel is not about our efforts. It's about falling into God's grace, which catches us even in our lowest moments. We don't earn God's love; we receive it by faith, which itself is a gift. Our focus should always be on Jesus and His finished work on the cross.
