In my sermon, I delved into the profound significance of the sevenfold spirit of God, emphasizing the spirit of wisdom as a vital component for every believer. I began by reiterating the importance of recognizing that the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which includes the spirit of wisdom, is available to each one of us. It is not a distant concept but a present reality that we can tap into through prayer and engagement with God's Word.
I then transitioned to the second aspect of the sevenfold spirit, the spirit of wisdom, as described in Isaiah 11:2. I highlighted that everything that functioned in Christ must also operate in us, as we are called to grow into the full stature of Christ. This growth is not about physical resemblance but about embodying His character and the way He operated in life, which includes accessing and functioning in the spirit of wisdom.
I explained that wisdom is not merely about attending church or hearing a message; it is about learning to operate in the spirit of wisdom daily. This wisdom is not of this world but is a divine wisdom that comes from God and is tied to all His works. By wisdom, God founded the earth, and if we are to live effectively and successfully, we must be connected to His wisdom.
I shared that the spirit of wisdom enables us to be mentally productive, enhancing our skills and abilities in all areas of life, including secular employment and studies. It is the Holy Spirit within us that connects us to the wisdom of God, revealing truth to our inner man and enabling us to operate with the spirit of wisdom.
Furthermore, I emphasized that wisdom enables us to reign on earth as redeemed kings and priests, as described in Revelation 5:10. Wisdom is essential for reigning in life, and it is by wisdom that kings reign and rulers decree justice. I also pointed out that promotion and prominence are products of wisdom, as seen in the lives of biblical figures like Joseph and Daniel, who were promoted and gained prominence in foreign lands due to their divine wisdom.
I stressed that wisdom brings stability to our lives, as it is the stability of our times and the strength of our salvation. It is through obedience to God's Word that we build a solid foundation that can withstand life's storms.
I concluded by outlining practical ways to access this wisdom: through prayer, learning and meditating on God's Word, keeping wise company, and living a clean life. I encouraged the congregation to meditate on these principles and to live them out in their daily lives.
