The Holy Spirit empowers believers to be witnesses for Jesus, providing not only the energy and boldness to share the gospel but also the willingness to lay down one’s life for the sake of Christ. This is the age of the Holy Spirit, a time marked by revival, miracles, and the global spread of the gospel. Every disciple is called to participate in this mission, reaching every ethnic group with the good news before Christ’s return. The Holy Spirit’s presence is not just for personal edification but for equipping the church to fulfill its mission in the world. [01:47:29]
Acts 1:8 (ESV)
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Reflection: In what specific way can you rely on the Holy Spirit’s power today to boldly share your faith with someone who has never heard the gospel?
God’s heart is for restoration—of people, churches, and nations. Many are spiritually robbed, plundered, or imprisoned, yet too often no one rises to declare, “Restore!” The call is for believers to partner with God in the work of restoration, proclaiming freedom and healing to those in bondage. This is the essence of revival: not just personal renewal, but the restoration of all things as foretold by the prophets, preparing the way for Christ’s return. [01:49:08]
Isaiah 42:22 (ESV)
"But this is a people plundered and looted; they are all of them trapped in holes and hidden in prisons; they have become plunder with none to rescue, spoil with none to say, 'Restore!'"
Reflection: Who in your life or community is in need of restoration, and how can you be the one to speak and act for their renewal this week?
God is restoring the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the fivefold ministry to the church, reviving biblical worship, prophecy, healing, and unity among believers. These gifts are not relics of the past but are being poured out afresh, equipping the church for global evangelism and the building up of the body of Christ. The outpouring of the Spirit, as prophesied by Joel and fulfilled at Pentecost, continues today, inviting all believers to participate in God’s supernatural work. [01:52:17]
Joel 2:28-29 (ESV)
"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit."
Reflection: What spiritual gift or ministry has God placed in your life that you have neglected or doubted, and how can you step out in faith to use it for His glory?
The Spirit of the Lord anoints believers to bring good news to the poor, bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to captives, and open the prison to those who are bound. This calling is not just for Jesus but for all who follow Him, empowering the church to bring hope, healing, and freedom to a hurting world. The restoration revival’s primary outcome is a Spirit-filled people who deliver others from bondage and proclaim the gospel to all nations. [02:17:48]
Isaiah 61:1 (ESV)
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound."
Reflection: Who is someone in your life who feels bound or brokenhearted, and how can you intentionally bring them hope or encouragement today?
The legacy of faith is meant to be passed from one generation to the next, carrying forward the vision, anointing, and mission of those who have gone before. Just as the baton of revival and missions was handed down, each believer is called to receive and then pass on the fire of the Holy Spirit, ensuring that the work of God continues and expands through new generations. This requires intentional investment, encouragement, and empowerment of younger believers to lead and serve. [02:05:41]
2 Timothy 2:2 (ESV)
"And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also."
Reflection: Who is a younger believer or emerging leader you can encourage or mentor this week, and what is one practical way you can help them grow in their faith and calling?
Returning to my spiritual home after nearly six decades, I am deeply moved by the anniversaries we celebrate—both personal and communal. These milestones are not just markers of time, but reminders of God’s faithfulness and the enduring legacy of those who have gone before us. In the Chinese tradition, we say, “When you drink water, remember its source.” It is vital to remember the origins of our ministry and the vision that has shaped us. The heart of this vision is the work of the Holy Spirit, whose activity in our generation is unprecedented. We live in the age of the Holy Spirit, the time of the latter rain, when God is pouring out His Spirit in ways that are restoring the church to its New Testament vibrancy and mission.
Reflecting on the great revivals of the 20th century—the Pentecostal and the Restoration (Latter Rain) movements—we see how the Holy Spirit has empowered believers for witness, restored spiritual gifts, and ignited a passion for world missions. The call to bring the gospel to every ethnic group remains urgent, as many still lack the Scriptures in their own language. Our ministry, rooted in these revivals, has been about passing the baton of faith, vision, and anointing to the next generation, ensuring that the fire of the Spirit continues to burn.
My own journey began with a simple love for the Chinese people, which God nurtured into a lifelong calling. Despite closed doors and impossible odds, God opened the way for ministry in China and beyond. Through the support of faithful partners, especially Shiloh Church, we have seen millions of Bibles and gospel tracts delivered, churches planted, and leaders raised up across Asia, Africa, and beyond. The restoration of the gifts of the Spirit—prophecy, healing, and the fivefold ministry—has transformed countless lives and communities.
The story of our family, our church, and our partners is a testimony to God’s grace and the power of generational faithfulness. From humble beginnings—living in a church bathroom and learning Cantonese from children—to seeing four generations under one roof, God’s blessing has been evident. The work continues, with new Bible schools, online teaching, and ongoing evangelism in places like Pakistan, India, Africa, and Europe. The Spirit of the Lord is upon us, anointing us to preach good news, bind up the brokenhearted, and proclaim liberty to the captives. This is our calling, our inheritance, and our joy.
Isaiah 61:1 (ESV) — > The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
Acts 1:8 (ESV) — > But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Joel 2:28-29 (ESV) — > “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.”
But we're saying restore. This is what the revival is all about. It's called restoration revival. Peter, preaching on the day of Pentecost, or later on after Pentecost in Acts chapter 3, he tells the people to repent and be converted. Jesus Christ will come back, but not now. He's remaining in heaven until the time of restoration of all things that were spoken by the mouth of the prophets. [01:50:04] (32 seconds) #RestorationRevival
Before, many evangelicals thought that these ended in the first century. But now we have the restoration of biblical worship and praise, the prophetic ministry, healing the sick, the unity of the body of Christ, global evangelism, and going to closed nations. [01:53:00] (18 seconds) #BiblicalTruthRevealed
I realized that I was called to be a missionary. I could not remain in America. I must go overseas. Because someone said it's not right that anyone should hear the gospel twice when many haven't even heard it once. [01:58:01] (15 seconds) #DivineCallToChina
He asked me, do you want to go to China? I give you the promise. Ask of me, he said, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance and the ends of the earth for your possession. I said, God, give me China. That was 16 years old. [01:58:29] (15 seconds) #PropheticConfirmation
So, we started a China ministry now called Revival Chinese Ministries International. And we have a ministry of donkeys for Jesus, taking the Word of God into China. So, we estimate in all those years, since 1979, we've taken about 10 million Bibles or major teaching books into China. [02:05:10] (21 seconds) #ChurchGrowthAndYouth
Now, you know, church buildings and even homes used as churches are very important for evangelism. And there's been a lot of growth in the church recently. And many young people are being trained for the ministry. And as the Bible says, don't let anyone despise your youth, but be an example. So, quite often we encourage the youth to take part in leading the whole service, the preaching, the teaching, and the song service. [02:06:50] (28 seconds) #PropheticRevivalInChina
Through laying on of hands and prophecy. And this actually changed the history of China. So it's through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, boldly preaching the gospel, that the church in China is experiencing a mighty revival. [02:12:18] (21 seconds) #HomeChurchMovement
