1. "We can see God's hand working through all of these trials in our life. And this week was no exception to that. I was on Wednesday of this past week, the Church received a phone call and Mary Ann number two, is what we called her. Mary Ann Benner, in case you're wondering who that might be. We call her Mary Ann too and Mary Ann Riggleman, we call her the real Mary Ann. So that's our little pet nicknames for them." [01:21] (26 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2. "I said, you know, you're Jewish, but we serve the same God. We worship the same God. The only difference between you and me is that we believe that Jesus is the Messiah. So I was able to share with him a little bit. And he said to me, he goes, look, there was a guy in Chicago who was from this organization called Jews for Jesus. How many of you ever heard of this organization, Jews for Jesus?" [03:25] (20 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3. "I know, shocker, right? I was crying. And I kept telling myself, Michael, pull it together. You don't want to act like a blubbering fool in front of a stranger. But I did. I was crying through that because I could see God's hand at work. A few weeks ago, I talked about the little way that God's reminding me and reminding us that he is real and that he is in control." 4. "So a couple weeks ago, we talked about finding joy in our trials. Last week, we talked about finding joy in our prayer, and both of those things happened to me this week. I don't know if they did for you. I found joy in both of those things. So today, we're talking about finding joy through salvation, and even this story that I brought to you, I'm going to read it to you." [09:08] (26 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

5. "Jesus spoke in parables because he knew we would pay attention. We love stories. So we pay attention when we hear a story. Jesus spoke this way because he knew it would stand the test of time. And let's prove it. How many of us have heard these parables before? Raise your hand. Yeah. For some 2000 odd years, Jesus has told these and we understand them today. It transcends barriers. It transcends cultures." [15:01] (31 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

6. "The joy of the Lord is our strength. When Ezra read the law and the Israelites wept over their breaking of the law, Nehemiah said in chapter eight, verse 10, go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared. For this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow for the joy of the Lord is your strength. That's our strength today. The joy of the Lord is our strength this morning." 7. "The joy that you receive is directly proportional to the amount of humility that you express. Psalm 51, verse 12 and 17. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me by your generous spirit. Verse 17, the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart. These, oh God, you will not despise. In fact, I would say that you can't experience the joy of salvation without humility." [34:47] (27 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

8. "The joy that comes from Christ is joy that lasts for an eternity. The joy that comes from this world lasts but a moment. Don't fill yourself up with this world. Fill yourself up with the joy that only comes from Christ and his salvation. So not only does salvation bring joy to the saved, salvation brings joy to the witnesses. We see this in the parable of the sheep, the coin, and the prodigal son." [35:42] (27 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

9. "Sharing our faith is one of the scariest things we can do, but it's worth every minute of it because it brings joy into our life. First John 1.4 says this. We write this to make our joy complete. John said that writing the gospel to people brought him joy. He backed it up in 3 John 1.4. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in faith. It's very clear. John finds joy in telling others about the gospel of Christ." [37:42] (30 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

10. "If you want joy in your life, find someone who doesn't know the Lord and tell them about Jesus. Truly, honestly, if you want joy in your life, tell someone about Jesus. That's all you have to do. You will find joy. So, salvation brings joy to the saved. It brings joy to the witness. It brings joy to the evangelist. And finally, salvation brings joy to the Lord."
