Wherever you find yourself—whether in the church building, at home, at work, or even in your car—your life as a believer is a living sanctuary for God’s presence. Praise is not confined to a particular place or a set of walls; it is the overflow of a grateful heart that recognizes God’s goodness in every circumstance. No matter how your week has gone or what burdens you carry, you are invited to bring praise with you, transforming ordinary spaces into holy ground. Your body is a temple, and wherever you go, you carry the opportunity to worship. Don’t wait for the perfect moment or location—let your praise rise wherever you are, for God is worthy at all times and in all places. [40:55]
Psalm 150:1
Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
Reflection: Where is one unexpected place this week where you can intentionally pause and offer God praise, turning that moment into a sanctuary of worship?
God’s acts in your life are mighty, many, and majestic—He has healed, provided, restored, and protected you in ways you could never accomplish on your own. But even beyond what He has done, God is worthy of praise simply for who He is: sovereign, holy, loving, merciful, and just. True praise is not dependent on your circumstances or whether your prayers have been answered as you hoped; it is rooted in the unchanging character of God. Even in seasons of waiting or hardship, you can praise Him for His ability and His faithfulness, knowing that He is always at work for your good and His glory. [43:52]
Psalm 150:2
Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
Reflection: What is one specific attribute of God—apart from what He’s done for you—that you can praise Him for today, and how will you express that praise?
God welcomes every form of praise—whether it’s through singing, playing instruments, dancing, clapping, or simply lifting your voice in joy. Each person’s praise is unique, and when combined with others, it creates a beautiful harmony that honors God. You don’t have to sound like anyone else or worry about how your praise looks; what matters is that you offer what you have with sincerity. Whether you can sing, hum, clap, or simply whisper a prayer, God delights in your authentic worship. Don’t let self-consciousness or tradition hold you back—give God your praise in the way He has gifted you. [48:36]
Psalm 150:3-5
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Reflection: What is one way you can express your praise to God today that feels authentic to you, even if it’s outside your comfort zone?
Praise is not reserved for a select few—it is the calling of every living being. If you have breath in your lungs, you have a reason and a responsibility to praise God. All creation is invited to join in a universal chorus of worship, and your voice matters in that great symphony. Your very breath is a gift from God, and using it to honor Him is the highest purpose you can fulfill. No matter your situation, your praise is powerful and precious to God, and it prepares you for the eternal praise that will resound in heaven. [55:30]
Psalm 150:6
Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
Reflection: As you breathe in and out today, how can you use your words, actions, or even your silence to intentionally praise God with the life He has given you?
Praise is God’s prescription for the believer facing heartache, pain, or uncertainty. When you choose to praise—regardless of your circumstances—you invite God’s presence and power into your situation. Praise shifts your focus from your problems to God’s promises, reviving your spirit and reminding you of the hope you have in Christ. The greatest reason to praise is the gift of salvation through Jesus, who died and rose again so you might have eternal life. No matter what you face, praise is what you do, because God is always worthy and always working for your good. [01:10:56]
Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
Reflection: What challenge or burden are you carrying right now that you can intentionally respond to with praise, trusting God to work in and through your situation?
Today is a day to rejoice and be glad, for God has given us another opportunity to gather, worship, and lift up His holy name. We are reminded that worship is not just a routine, but a privilege and a calling for every believer. Whether in the sanctuary, at home, or wherever we find ourselves, our lives are to be marked by praise. Psalm 100 and Psalm 150 both call us to joyful, exuberant worship, not confined to a building but flowing from grateful hearts that recognize God’s goodness, mercy, and enduring truth.
Praise is not just a response to what God has done, but a prescription for the believer’s soul. Just as a doctor prescribes medicine for our physical ailments, God prescribes praise to help us endure heartaches, headaches, and pain. Praise is what sustains us through trials, lifts our spirits, and reminds us of God’s faithfulness. It is both retrospective—looking back at God’s mighty acts—and reverent, adoring Him simply for who He is. Our praise should not be contingent on our circumstances, but rooted in the unchanging character of God.
Psalm 150 gives us a blueprint for praise: where, why, how, and who should praise God. We are to praise Him everywhere—His sanctuary, the heavens, and wherever we go, for we are the church. We praise Him for His mighty acts and His excellent greatness, for He is sovereign, holy, loving, and just. Our praise can be expressed in many ways: with instruments, with singing, with dance, with every breath we have. Each person’s praise is unique, but when joined together, it creates a beautiful harmony that glorifies God.
Ultimately, everyone who has breath is called to praise the Lord. Our very breath is a gift from God, and we are to use it to honor Him. Praise is the eternal occupation of the believer—what we begin here on earth will continue in heaven, where all creation will unite in a triumphant, unending hallelujah. The invitation is open to all: to receive the gift of salvation, to join the family of faith, and to live a life marked by praise, no matter the season or circumstance.
Psalm 100 (KJV) — > Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
> Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
> Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
> Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
> For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 150 (KJV) — > Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
> Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
> Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
> Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
> Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
> Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
I've learned over the course of my life that praise is essential in the life of the believer. So much so that there are many songs that talk about praise. There's a song that says, praise is what I do. We've heard that when you send praises up, blessings come down. When we've heard praise him, praise him, that hymn that I could go on and on. There's a song that says, I've got a reason to praise the Lord. And so we can go on and on with songs that talk about how and when and why we ought to praise the Lord. Praise is what the doctor ordered for the believer to endure through heartaches headaches and pain. As I say I've gotten a little bit older now I bother my wife in the morning while she's still sleeping and I'm getting ready to go to work that I got to open up eight to nine prescription bottles and get that pill out and in order to take it and she said you ought to get that ready the night before because you're keeping me up with all of the rattling all of all of the pills but but what I realize is that when I go to the doctor and the doctor says that he has to write me a prescription and watch this I y 'all remember back in the time before now they do it electronically but you remember when a doctor used to write out a prescription and they'll give you that little note you have to take it to the pharmacy and give it to me what I realize is I never knew and could read what they wrote but I trusted that what they told me to take it was going to help me in my situation. Wherever the presence of the Lord is, there ought to be praise. Do I have anybody that said, sometimes I got to have a praise break on my job. Sometimes I'm going through in the chairs of Floyd while I'm driving. And so I don't wreck, I got to pull over on the shoulder and get a little praise break out. Is there anybody that know that even when you're in your house, whether you're in your room and sometimes your kids think you crazy because you're in your living room, you're in your room shouting some praise unto God. Is there anybody that know it does not matter where I am. God still deserves our You don't need a perfect place to praise God. [00:41:18] (48 seconds) #PraiseEverywhere
I ought not be able to finish this point without us running out of here because when I think why I should praise God, I can praise him for his mighty acts and I can praise him for his excellent greatness. He said, praise God for his acts. Is there anybody in here that knows his acts are mighty? His acts are many. And his acts are majestic. And so when I think about what God has done for me, somebody in here knows that he's done some stuff in your life that you couldn't have done even if you tried. He's a sovereign God. He can do what he wants, how he wants, and when he wants. Not only that, he's holy, he's omniscient, he's immutable, he's love, he's grace, he's mercy, he's compassion, he's justice, he's truth, he's my all in all. I can go down the road, but whatever you need God to be, God said I can be that and so much more. [00:43:59] (32 seconds) #GodIsAllInAll
I've learned not to have my praise contingent on my blessings. Watch this. When you learn to adopt that you can praise God just for who he is, watch this, even if he don't answer in the way you want him to, he's still worthy of our praise. Watch this. You could be going through hell and high water, but when you praise God for who he is, that means that you've got to praise in your spirit. [00:45:12] (35 seconds) #PraiseBeyondBlessings
Don't just praise God for what he's given you, but praise him for who he is. Is there anybody in here that has a reason to praise the Lord? Can I run down the list? He woke you up this morning. He kept you while you slept and you slumbered. You made it to this place of worship. You had food on your table. You had a roof over your head. You had clothes still in the closet. You woke up with activities of your limb. You woke up to a God who still is in control of this world. [00:46:49] (36 seconds) #PraiseForWhoHeIs
Each one of us has our own distinctive praise. But when your praise couples with my praise, it sends a sweet harmony unto God. And so I says, I can't sing, but what I do have, I'm going to give it unto the Lord. And so even if I can't sing, I can hum, I can shout, I can clap my hands, I can stomp my feet, whatever I have, I can give it unto God. [00:49:27] (28 seconds) #UnifiedPraise
Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. And so he said, let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. He said, watches all living things. In the air, in the earth, in the water. He said, let there be one universal verse of praise. He said, let his praises be celebrated, not only with instruments of music, but he said, let all living beings unite together in their praise. [00:54:51] (39 seconds) #AllCreationPraises
Sometimes when you, when you've been through what you've been through, sometimes you got a case of the can't help it, that you got to get, your praise on, because of who he is, of what he's done, because of what he's doing, because of what he will do, that I got a reason, to praise the Lord, and what's this, the main reason I can praise him, is because he died for me, gave me the gift of salvation, that I don't have to, have a certain amount of money, I don't have to have, a high credit score, I don't, have to have, a certain level of education, that God says that, I'm knocking on the door, and if you want me to come in, all you got to do, is open the door, I'll come in, and I'll reside with you.
