1. "We hope that it's a tool to help you be disciples in your own home, feel good about what your kids are watching, and for yourself to help grow. Because, you know, you can grow in the Lord beyond just Sunday mornings at 9 a.m., right? So, I hope you'll dig into that."

2. "Less is more. We've been cleaning out our house, and my wife said to me this morning, less is more. Can we just always have it this way? I said, probably not. We have three kids. So, but less is more. Would you agree with that in a lot of areas of life?"

3. "In the face of this important challenge and this big problem, God is going to teach Gideon and us that sometimes less really is more. Now, I don't do this often, but I'm going to read pretty much the entire story. Can you, can you go, go with that with me? I'm going to read the majority of the rest of Judges 7, because I want you to see the whole story altogether of what happens here in this valley and beyond."

4. "You realize sometimes the reason that the Lord leaves you needing him is so that you know you need him. Less of my power and more of his glory. One more point to show from the story is the dream the Midianite had. In the dream, he said that a cake of barley bread, which I know many of you know exactly what that is. I have no idea. But barley bread was the poorest of the poor man's food."

5. "You know, if I'm honest, when I overpack, it's because I have like a lot of money in my pocket. And I'm going to get where I'm going. And I'm going to need something that I have, but that I didn't bring with me. Isn't that what it is? You just, it's just like a little low-grade fear you're operating under, that I don't want to be without my thing that makes me feel secure. True?"

6. "You can trust Him. There's nothing more peaceful than being with a guide or an expert who has the plan, who knows the schedule, and who knows everything about where you are. There's nothing more stressful than pretending to be that person for yourself. When we don't know the plan, we don't know the schedule, and we don't know everything about the world around us. We have someone we can trust, don't we?"

7. "I don't need complete control. We all have a tendency to be control freaks. I've been reminded more times than I can count that God is the one who is actually in control. God reminded Gideon of this too. Look at verse 9. The Lord said to him, arise, go down against the camp, for I, God said, I, who? God, has given it into your hand."

8. "Here's what the New Testament says. He said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that my power may be made perfect in weakness. For the sake of me Christ then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Less is more."

9. "He, Jesus, must increase, but I must decrease. Less of me, more of him. Father, we come to you today, and I pray that we wouldn't just know this, but we would live this. That we would be less is more people. That we would be people that we're not trying to have more of ourselves, more of our pride, more of our stuff, but people that are wanting more of you."

10. "When we get baptized, we are publicly showing what Jesus has already done in us. And I'm trusting him, surrender to him. If you've never been baptized, Pastor Kurt's here. He'd love to help you do that today, or at least answer questions. And when we take communion, we are declaring less is more. Less of me, more of him. Because of what Jesus has done, we have everything."
