1) "And what they said, what the mother said, I thought was really interesting because it's not something that I ever associated with starting my day finding peace. She said every morning. I get up and I read the 23rd Psalm. Now, I'm thinking the 23rd Psalm is something that I remember all the time as being read at a funeral. Not exactly something that I would start my day thinking about. And so I asked Jennifer to put it in the bulletin today so that we could take a look at it, because the 23rd Psalm really is about peace." 2) "The other thing that came to my mind was the word Shalom. Now, I grew up in an area that I had a lot of Jewish friends. And so, I knew what the word was, but I always thought of Shalom as just a greeting. It's kind of like Aloha in Hawaii. It means hello and goodbye. But Shalom means a whole lot more than that. It means a way of peace, God's peace." [04:06] (24 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3) "Every day if you can start your day with that in your heart and try to find the true peace that we're meant to have. That's the peace through Jesus. That's what he came for. To rebuild our relationship with God and with each other. Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Love each other. That's the way of the world that is peaceful. How do we get there? Well it starts with each one of us. anxiety, fear, all the things that get in the way of us feeling peace. You need to consciously be reminded that those are things that are put in our way by Satan." 4) "Those are the things that are put in our way so that we can't have that relationship that we should have with God through Jesus. We were given the Holy Spirit to help us. That Holy Spirit is something you can call on at any time. It's always there, always with you. And if you do that you can find peace. Find your spot in the morning. That you can feel God's presence. That you can understand what peace really means." [08:52] (32 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
