God exists outside of time and is present in our past, present, and future, offering us the assurance that we are never alone in any season of life. He is the Alpha and Omega, the One who was, who is, and who is to come, and His unchanging nature means that His love and grace are available to us at every moment. No matter what you have faced or will face, God is with you, working in all things for your good and His glory. Let this truth anchor your soul and give you confidence as you navigate the three time zones of your life—yesterday, today, and tomorrow. [03:54]
Revelation 1:8 (ESV)
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Reflection: In which area of your life—past, present, or future—do you most struggle to sense God’s presence? How can you invite Him into that specific time zone today?
Carrying the pain, shame, or failures of the past can weigh us down and keep us from experiencing the freedom and grace God has for us today. We were not created to store guilt or shame, and when we try to manage or hide our past, it disrupts the new things God wants to do in our lives. True freedom comes when we release our baggage to Jesus, allowing Him to define us as new creations and to bring healing where there has been hurt. Letting go of yesterday is not just about forgetting, but about reaching forward to what God has ahead, trusting that His grace is sufficient for every wound and regret. [14:37]
Philippians 3:13 (ESV)
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
Reflection: What is one specific piece of “baggage” from your past that you need to let go of today? What would it look like to release it to Jesus right now?
Worrying about the future or waiting for a “better” version of yourself can rob you of the strength and grace God has given you for today. Jesus calls us to live in the present, trusting that He will provide what we need for each day and that His grace will meet us in every moment of trouble. When we fixate on tomorrow, we miss the opportunities and blessings God has placed in our path right now. Embrace the gift of today, knowing that God’s mercies are new every morning and that He daily bears your burdens. [24:07]
Matthew 6:34 (ESV)
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Reflection: What is one worry about tomorrow that you can surrender to God today, trusting Him to provide the grace you need when the time comes?
God’s grace is not just a distant promise or a memory from the past—it is a present reality, available to help you in your time of need. The Lord invites you to approach His throne with confidence, knowing that He will supply mercy and grace exactly when you need it. You don’t have to carry the weight of your struggles alone; God is ready to bear your burdens and walk with you through every challenge. Today is the day to receive His help, to experience His presence, and to let His grace empower you to live victoriously. [29:13]
Hebrews 4:16 (ESV)
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Reflection: Where in your life do you need to approach God’s throne for grace today? What step can you take to receive His help in your current situation?
God is not distant from your pain or unaware of your struggles; He steps into your story, feels what you feel, and invites you to let go of the burdens you were never meant to carry. Just as Jesus wept with those who mourned and bore the weight of the world’s baggage to the cross, He offers to carry your sorrows, shame, and fears. Today can be a line of demarcation—a moment to let go, to trust that He has taken your burdens, and to walk in the freedom and healing He provides. You are free by His amazing grace; let Him have your troubles and step into the newness He has for you. [45:17]
Psalm 68:19 (ESV)
Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Selah
Reflection: What pain or burden have you been holding onto that you need to give to Jesus today? How can you practically release it and trust Him to carry it for you?
We are all so different—just like the many ways people eat an Oreo—but there are deep similarities that unite us, especially in how we experience time: our past, our present, and our future. God, who is triune, has woven this threefold pattern into creation and into our lives. We live in these three time zones, and each one can become a source of baggage that weighs us down. The past can fill us with shame and regret, the future with anxiety and worry, and the present with the temptation to procrastinate or live in denial. Yet, God’s Word reveals that He is the God of yesterday, today, and forever. He is present in every moment, offering us peace for our past, grace for today, and hope for our future.
Too often, we carry baggage from our yesterdays—old wounds, failures, and guilt that God never intended for us to bear. Like Adam and Eve, we try to cover up or hide, but shame and guilt have no proper place in us. If we don’t let God transform our pain, we end up transmitting it into every area of our lives, adjusting ourselves to accommodate brokenness rather than letting God heal us. The call is to let go, to say goodbye to what’s behind, and to reach forward to what God has ahead. This is not two separate actions, but one movement—like a trapeze artist letting go in order to grasp the next bar.
We also tend to bring tomorrow’s worries into today, trying to control what only God can handle. Worry doesn’t empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength. And sometimes, we live in a fantasy of the future, always planning to change “one day,” but never actually stepping into obedience or transformation. Grace is only available in the present. God gives us daily bread, daily mercies, and daily grace. The only way to change our future is to respond to God’s grace today.
Jesus models this perfectly. He was never in a rush, never anxious about tomorrow, always present in the moment. When He raised Lazarus, He showed that faith for the past or the future is not enough—He is the resurrection and the life right now. God steps into our pain, our baggage, and our brokenness, not as a distant observer, but as one who feels with us and for us. The invitation is to let go of the baggage, to trust that God’s grace is sufficient for this moment, and to walk in the freedom He offers—today.
Hebrews 13:8 (ESV) — > Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
2. Philippians 3:13-14 (ESV)
> Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
3. Matthew 6:34 (ESV)
> Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
